Hi,
Please add my name to the list starting 1st Sept to 30th. I'm going for £120. It's just me but I've fallen into some bad habits so it might take a month to get back on the straight and narrow!.
Thanks

We spent £6 today in Morrys all yellow sticker stuff except for lactofree milk
Oh actually plus £1.35 for soya milk cartons (not provided at school).
The yellow sticker stuff is mostly for hubby, 9p chips and ready meals, bread etc, some yoghurts for me and LO at 19p, croissants and pain au chocolat for LO.
We also spent £9 in our local garden centre, was unplanned but they had 6 bags of walkers for 50p some big bars of chocolate 50p, cheap fizzy drinks and some flapjack, plus biscuits 25p.
This is all stuff we consider luxury and rarely buy so we were quite excited at its cheapness and got quite a lot, should last a good few months.
£16.35 from our budget gone in 2 days Everything is always better after a cup of tea0 -
Another £1.75 for me today, decided to use the £5 voucher on stuff we need to buy anyway before big shop day (Friday). So used it for 6pts of milk and 800g of cheese from land of ice.
Also went to Mr M for woopsies (hence the £1.75) and got some fruit, bread, marg for baking and lemon curd. So all in all not a bad shop today, just got to stay away from the shops now till Friday! Off to update the signature before I forget.Grocery Challenge Sept 2021 £95.40/£500

1. Lower milk production in the UK because so many dairy farmers have been forced out by the low/negative prices they were getting for milk last year.
2. There has been a big increase in consumer demand because of people moving away from artificial products (inc margarine) back to natural ones (inc butter).
3. Due to the fall of the £ against the euro British butter is now much cheaper in the EU for their consumers so more being exported.
By the way, the prices for cream and butter are likely to keep increasing atm and a shortage is forecast for the C holiday, when purchases of these products are much higher - so be warned now !

I've ended up stocking the cupboards, buying lots of fish reduced from Tesco and cooking a great vat of Thai Green Curry which is now in the freezer. As a result I've now spent £60 of my £120 budget for September. I've got at least 2 weeks worth of fish and meat, and probably enough pasta to last me half a year...0
