Thanks all for your lovely comments, so nice to hear positive comments after being cut down. I was always sure that I wanted to be a SAHM, and my DH supports me every step of the way. Just hard to hear my decisions being questioned in such a way.

Flying wise I have one clean bedroom to retire to tonight, just got to convince DH to tidy away his carp. Also managed to get outside and finish cleaning plant pots and washing/sweeping the patio despite the rain. One trip to the vets for a regular check up of medication ticked off as well, vet is happy with how the often the seizures are occuring. Got a new prescription for the next few months to pass on to the pharmacy.

Hi! I've just been moaning on my dfw diary about how I'm struggling to keep on top of the housework at the moment so I hope it's ok that I've popped over here for a little help! I'm going to start with tomorrow and level 1. Hopefully I'll be able to build on it as the days go on, but level 1 will be something to start!

    Evening all

I was a SAHM when mine were smallies, like ATB with two in two years and no family support there wasn't really a choice, but I wanted to do it anyway. TBH I couldn't understand why some parents had/have children. They can't get back to work quickly enough, moan about the holidays and the costs of families. I used to sometimes wonder if they just thought of children as 'must have' accessories.

    Dailies done
    Bathroom and kitchen S&Sd
    Spanish lesson done
    Small freezer reshuffled
Kitchen and bathroom floor swept and washed
    Balcony tidied and plants watered
Sorted some things out of the bookcase for cs
Kitchen all WUDUPA and bunkers wiped

MAD today. I thought I would empty, sort and clean the top of one of the top kitchen units. However, once I had pulled out the step ladder, found some magazine sheets to line them once clean  , organised cleaning materials and made a start - I decided to carry on and do all three. Have put out some unwanted 'stuff', mainly empty jars, and washed everything that lives up there. Probably took about an hour and a half, broken up a bit whilst waiting for things to dry, but pleased that frog's out the way :D

Hugs to all, sticks and spoons if you need some
Hope you all have a great Wednesday

I have had similar thoughts myself.. I have also thought they are the most judgemental .. I don't know why.. I admire mums who choose to go back to work, it must be very hard to juggle work and children and men and housework.. I struggle enough juggling children, children, housework and children.. I don't have time to work outside of the home.. do they have extra hours in a day?

Yes please, Lamewolf. We took him to the vet who's been caring for him since the diagnosis and she's really pleased with him at the moment mainly because he's put on weight and his coat is glossy from all the stroking. He's coping, but he does struggle sometimes. She's prescribed the next stage of pain relief and we're all crossing our fingers he doesn't react badly to it, but I'm more than slightly worried about opiates and this cat. (He's the only animal I've ever know to get absolutely hysterically hyper on valerian.) I took him out of the basket and let him look out of the window as we were whizzing home, because he cried so much on the way there. He found it very interesting.

Unfortunately DH has managed to undo all of 3 weeks' work in trying to get Rosie's confidence by leaning down on her from a great height to pat her head. She squealed, ran away from him, and wouldn't come back when he called - only when I did - then he blocked her way past him on the narrow landing to where I was, so she ran away again. He just doesn't think like a street dog... :(

It's always three steps forward and two back with rescues, Ionafan, no matter how much we try to get it right. She responded to you although she was frightened, so that shows you just how far you've come in three weeks. Bless.

Welcome Mrs Save! Level 1 for a week would transform somewhere that had been let go a bit - go for it!

Commiserations for all those who haven't had a :T weigh-in this week at SW. It's summer; we all have to let ourselves celebrate a bit, once in a while.

*Healing vibes* for Pixie, whatever ails her, and any of the rest of the brood that are festering quietly.

Tidying, titivating and generally clearing up as I go. It seems to be working.
    Better is good enough.

    Welcome, MrsSave
I hope that Pixie's spots are really not measles - that is such a miserable thing to have.

Thank you for today's list, Valli.

Just what I was planning to do with DGS3+4 this afternoon - except that it's pouring with rain here. Hopefully it will brighten up this afternoon so that we can take Rosie for a long walk. DGS4 is excited about seeing her again. DGS3 is not so sure....

The webinar last night was exhausting - an hour of two excitable young people enthusing about their method of dog training and drooling over the number of people that had joined the webinar (their first, and it attracted over 1000 people from around the world), but the actual useful content could have been presented in a quarter of the time. I turned off when they offered their "secrets" (i.e. access to further training videos) for ***only*** £95 :eek::eek: I suspect it was a profitable evening for them, but it wasn't particularly useful to me. I went and unwound by baking cakes.

This morning I need to pop to Mr Al for some more food to feed the hordes and to replenish my baking store. I baked the usual coffee cake for DS2 and have iced it this morning - there must be almost half a tub of glace cherries on it ;) Then I need to get my head down to studying again. Today I am determined to start writing one of the 4 essays that together make up the assignment.

I have S&S'd the kitchen and decluttered DH to the railway.
Must have my shower, then deal with the kitchen and DR.

Hope everyone has a good day x

    any sun

    DD has emptied DW. *faints*

kitchen is a must-do for me. Well, to be honest, the whole house is a must do. And I have three washloads to peg out because I have steadfastly refused to use the TD. DS has run out of socks; he was advised to look in the unmatched-sock basket himself.

Finally our PTA have a new bank account! Just waiting for stationery then I can start paying in. It's taken months...

Anyway, I'm showered and fed so *rolls up sleeves* ready to go...

She isn't even unwell.. just head to foot in a bright red rash.. she had no 'cold symptoms' or the Kopliks spots in her mouth.. she has no sign or ear or throat infection either and no raised temp... I still am inclined to believe it is an allergic reaction.

DD1 and DD3 had measles and I had them too and we were all really ill.. This is simply not measles I don't care what the Dr says.

I hinted (not very subtley) to my DD about the DW, Valli - but to no avail!

Flying has taken a back seat this morning - to marmalade making and baking. Not really much chance of getting anywhere in the kitchen whilst that is going on :D:D (and then I need to prep some pears and plums for crumble for this evening)

There are some things I *must* do today (bins - ready for tomorrow) so will be back later with progress (and hopefully with a load of jars of set marmalade ;))
