    Morning all,

The sun is shining here, so for the first time in what feels like ages the washing is out on the line. HHI done. I have just about an hour before I have to go and pick up DD and her friend. The gas boiler is having its service this afternoon, so I have cleared the airing cupboard ready. Luckily these days, now that it isn't used as a dumping ground, that only took seconds. I think I might leave the hall and landing until later, in case the boiler man traipses (??) in dirt. I'll run the vacuum cleaner around the living room instead.

My MAD yesterday was to tackle one of the many (and I mean MANY) boxes in the spare room. It turns out that I had 4 tins of ribbon bits. Admittedly most of them came from my mum's house as she was a great crafter. I managed to push them into one of the bigger tins, and 3 tins have left the house for the shed, where they are not my responsibility!! It didn't really sort just what I am going to do to use these ribbons as I can't bring myself to get rid of them yet, but at least the pile looks as if it has reduced.

Right, my hour is disappearing, off to get the vacuum out.

Whoops, sorry - welcome to MrsSave

I gave my mother's button box to a wardrobe mistress, Fayolle. I've discovered I can let pretty much anything go as long as I know it's going to somewhere they'll get better and more use out of it than I do.

Oh no. I have apparently reported something by leaning on my iPad. I tried to cancel it but that seemed to have reported it again.

How do I get out of this?

No idea, but I should imagine it happens a lot. Some really long threads have been deleted because people have accidentally hit the Spam button once too often, and MSE can't put them back because it changes their designation to that of Publisher, which it apparently doesn't want to be. Note to self: Don't expect really long threads to be there forever.

Thank you, Lamewolf. Devil Cat is much, much happier, and both OH and I are completely amazed! It's marvelous seeing the little chap back to being himself. Please keep doing what ever it is you're doing. You've made two people and a small black cat very happy.

Day 1 is done. I'd love to say all days would be this successful, but I'd be lying! Ds1 has been at Summer club all day, so I've only had the 8 month old at home who is a super sleeper which means I've had plenty of free time. I've got both boys home tomorrow, but I'm determined to finish level 1 at least!

I'm actually amazed at how much I've done. As well as cleaning the windows in the kitchen, I've done the living room and patio door window. The toaster is clean, the bins are clean, the kitchen as a whole is clean, I've swept the floor in the hallway, tidied the toys under the stairs and sorted out the toys in the living room so they're much tidier and it now looks like a living room not a toy room!!

I've seen blackberry picking being mentioned. I've got a few growing on our driveway. Not many, but should be enough for an apple and blackberry crumble! I may add it to tomorrow's jobs.

That's the way it works Mrs Save - the whole process is cumulative. There will always be something that needs doing, even if it's only a daily swish and swipe, but everything you do is progress. It's taken me a few years to get the house into any kind of shape, but it took decades for it go get into the mess that it used to be, so I'm rather chuffed with what I've achieved by being a Flylady. Hurrah for Flyladies!

The sun is out so the WM is twirling and I'll be able to peg that out later. Good-oh. Other than that I really must make OH some ginger Twinks because I've scoffed most of his chocolate bix (can't understand why I'm not losing weight) and then I've got to tackle the food I bought yesterday. Most of it needs some kind of attention before it can be frozen. As well as something from the Listy from my neglected areas. There are rather a lot of them.
    Better is good enough.

    Morning,

Just had a delivery of a friend each for the kids, so I expect to be surplus to requirements today. I shall make the most of the sun and do some gardening I think. Lots of our lettuce has gone over, so I might remove some of the old yellowing ones and sow more seeds. And plenty more weeding to do.

I've had a general tidy and swish around, and I also plan to have a spare-room tidy too.

Chazza stuff out for collection - had two bags so half today and half tomorrow.

Table and chairs were collected last night, my purse is much heavier and my garden storage emptier :T

Bathroom clean and shiny. I also nipped to screwfix for a replacement strip for the bottom of the shower screen. What a difference!
Then I used the bucket of water and detergent from floor mopping to swab out the grey bin.

HB I am so pleased that Devil Cat is a happier chappie. :T

Mr LW got sent outside for some slightly unusual Flying yesterday; something - a goose, I suspect - had left a large, disgusting pile of poo on the flagstones just outside the back door, just right for an unsuspecting person or small dog to tread in it. Dirty bird!!

It will be Fudge's last night with us tonight; we're really going to miss the little guy. We'd thought we might be in for hard work with him, but he's been a joy to have around. Luckily he's back for a weekend in late October. :o

I've made an executive decision to leave vacuuming til Fudge has gone home - it's not actually bad, and Fudge dislikes vacuum cleaners.

For MAD - I need to crack on with some Yule cards. I have a bunch of e-newsletters from the Mensa Craft SIG (Special Interest Group) so I shall have a look through some of those for a bit of inspiration, because right now my I am coming up empty regarding ideas.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
  • Hmmph. The parcel I've been promised delivery of 'definitely today' for two days is off on a magical tour of the UK, going by the tracking - it got from the midlands to Glasgow, to within a mile of the house, then put into the wrong delivery office 3 miles away, and is currently sitting somewhere near Gatwick. It would have been quicker to catch the bus down to the delivery office than wait for them to find, lose, find and relocate it. I suspect it's in the bottom drawer of a locked filing cabinet in the basement of a Gatwick depot with a sign saying Beware of the Leopard on the door. And they wonder why people order from Amazon?

Himself has been limited in effort today - but as soon as I started getting the things together to put up some window film on the front door, he leapt into Manly Man Mode.

Pity he's never actually done it before, so after I'd rescued him from the sticky, creased mess he was making of it, whilst saying to himself 'why can't I just slide it into place?' - with a bowl of soapy water so he could just slide it into place, he muttered something about that should have been mentioned on the roll of film (it's an offcut that cost £1.48, for Heaven's Sake). He could have just left me alone to do it and none of this would have happened.

In any case, now he's Manly Manned it into position on both panes, he's feeling rather pleased with himself and it's actually giving far greater privacy whilst letting in more light than the net curtain that was forever needing washing. I only need to put a proper curtain up for Autumn/Winter, which is easy, especially as the post-lodger purge uncovered my sewing machine and he hasn't found Things To Put In Front of It on the Shelf, so I can adjust the length of the curtain, using the offcuts (IKEA curtains are massive) for some other purpose.

What I really wanted was something in brightly coloured rectangles like old stained glass or of a tree silhouette, this is incredibly meh, being white twiddly bits and blue flowers. But it'll do until I find something that isn't as horrible/complicated as the stained glass film I've seen online. And it was convenient to give the inside of the door a quick going over with soapy water whilst I was in the area.

Never mind, he's currently doing *something* with the clean washing. Not going to go upstairs in case the *something* is dumping it on my pillow rather than putting it away.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.

Well.. my credit rating is shocking! I have 2 items saying they are in default when in fact they are not so I'm on the cases of the relevant companies.. I have a second mortgage it appears.. erm.. no.. and 14 current accounts.. I have 1.. so there is a fair bit of insanity going on there.. fortunately I have a friend working for experian who can help.. no wonder my rating is so bad!! It is a bit scary being faced with the actual amount of debt you have..

Other than that I am trying to budget for the next 3 months.. I have £8000 to *find* and half needs to be done now. I CAN do this.. and I WILL.

Does anyone here have private medical insurance.. Is it worth having??

Ebeast.. talk sense to me.. is it worth listing everything at 99p regardless of what it is? Postage would be £5 for everything.. I'm working on the assumption that lower prices will encourage more bidders and hopefully more sales.. even if I get less pence for better quality stuff, with luck the cheaper stuff will go too.. or is my thinking sliding out of my ears?

and enough of my waffle.... off to do dinner
