I picked 50-100 because I started slowly last year and started around Feb/March time entering a few here & there, and got my first win in April. Once that happened, I entered as many as possible each day and here I am, completely hooked!
Total to date - £309.15

not sure you're doing anything wrong, but if you entered more a day I'm sure you would win. I try to enter 80+
too many comps..not enough time!0 -
I had an amazingly stress-free Christmas due to my comping wins. I spent under £100 on all the rest of the pressies - would have been less but a win hasn't turned up yet from October so that will go towards one nephews birthday pressie in April.... if it arrives!
I haven't sold any of my wins yet as (1) I haven't gotten around to it & (2) BF tells me that eBay hiked up their sales commission in the run up to Christmas so I'll think about popping a couple of bits up in the New Year. Will definitely be aiming for a Christmas/Birthday present neutral 2008!Sad because you don't know what to do? Comping question? Take a look in the Comping Guide to find out0 -
I usually switch dob around, or make a deliberate typo in it.
I have only just started to do this myself, unfortunately I have entered too many comps now with my correct details ...Im too honest  it never occured to me not too b4 now, so its probably too late for me as my info is already floating around cyber space:eek: , I just not sure why a lot of sites require D.O.B, unless its for alchol/car/holiday abroad.0 -
I had a worrying phone call a couple of months ago from the Halifax asking me whether i'd made a payment to Apple in America. When I said I hadn't he then told me that someone had managed to get hold of my bank details and was trying to make a payment but the Halifax stopped it in time  I was pretty shook up about this. I asked him how this person had managed to get hold of my bank details and he said it a common problem with petrol stations, online shops etc selling your details. I'm grateful to them that they managed to spot it in time. They had to cancel my card and send me a new one. I'm quite wary about using it now. Obviously this is nothing to do with comping but you can't even buy something these days safely.

Yep, you're not doing anything wrong, you just need to enter (a lot) more!
As for the poll, I can't even remember how long it took for my 1st win! I'll think harder!

I've only had 2 pieces of junk mail through the letterbox, Enjoy England (sure I ticked the darn boxes to opt out, but couldn't have
) & a holiday brochure. I get shedloads of newsletters where I've signed up to their newsletter to enter a comp, but as I keep a list of dates, I can unsubscribe from ones that don't hold any interest for me after the comp has been drawn
Had real trouble with spam-to-heck-and-back with a company called WebBrands - don't remember a comp for them but I think it was in the T & C that your details were shared with them or something. It took me ages to stem the 3-5 a day flood down to a trickle & I just received one today for the first time in a while. I hope it isn't the start of another deluge from them!
Very small price to pay for the friends I've made on here, the prizes I've won & the money I've not spent as I've been busy entering comps
As for general spam, I haven't noticed an increase in the 30-50 a day that I used to get before I was comping - then again I've had the same email address since 1998(The thing that did me in with spam - using my email address as my User ID on eBay before I realised people/bots harvested email addresses when you use them like that )

So never put any details anywhere, only way to be safe
Simple, as said, you don't give out financial details to anyone:cool:
Not sure about your sarcastic look , but don't know how else you would win a prize without giving some details? Maybe you know better? . As for the banking details hopefully no-one would fall for that trap.0 -
Never had anything through the post, though I sometimes wish I did, I'm one of those sad people who like getting mail. I get quite a lot of junk email, mostly its stuff like
"Your new macys card, 54646456, confirm"
"Enlarge your penis...5inches guarenteed"
"Mastercard 99759745 confirm"
"Abbey national" Click the link and login? Yeah okay....Win £2008 in 2008 no #49 £601.91/£2008
