About 10 I think in August when I was recovering and bored - won £200

Going to really go for it in 2008!

  • I have just started entering comps today (approx 70).I would be happy with 1 win,but as they have not cost me a penny I'm more than willing to give it a good 12 months trial and see how I get on in my first year.

I am very lucky,so I would hope to win several top prizes....I wish !

I tend to get more junk email then normal post. Fortunately I use a comping email, so it doesn't build up & I can just scan it and delete without it cluttering up my normal email. The post just goes in the recycling bin; the most does come from Enjoy England and cruise/travel companies at least for me.

    Total to date - £309.15
March wins - Leaves of Grass DVD
  • I read a scary article in the paper about identity theft today. It was nothing to do with comping (in fact, it didn't say how this man's identity was stolen but it got so bad he had to change his name and move house because the police won't do anything about it) but it did get me thinking about constantly putting your intimate details out into the world.

I'm thinking about getting into comping but it does disturb me, putting my name, address and telephone number on all these sites. And its not like you can put fake ones because what if you win something?

Does anyone have any similar concerns or, alternatively, any advice?

I don't get too much junk mail through the post but the ones I seem to get are the ones that promise you that you've won a fortune if you just enclose a cheque for £9.95, had them from Hong Kong (twice), USA and Canada so far  We have a good laugh and then throw them in the bin but I find it all a bit dodgy really, I only ever enter my b/f's address on competition forms so someone somewhere is passing on/selling private information grrrrrr All my other stuff goes to my home address and I don't get anything there so it must be compo related

  • Thank you Kirsteen!
Back comping after a wee while off!

2012 wins: Mark Hill Shine Spray
  • Receive very few e mails and no junk mail even though I have been entering comps and applying for freebies on line for just over a year now. Never won a prize either and must have entered over 3500 comps in the year. Wonder if they are being received sometimes. I try not to enter comps where my home telephone number is asked for.:confused::confused:
  • I have been entering as many competitions as possible every night for just over a year now and have never won a prize. If on average it is 10 a evening that is over 3500 competitions. Is this a record, what am I doing wrong.

I must admit it had crossed my mind, but I have done that far too many times now to back track. I keep a very close watch on bank accounts, and don't use the same passwords, or user name on any of them.
I usually switch dob around, or make a deliberate typo in it.
