Oh no. I hate noisy neighbours. Poor you! I hope they behave in future.
I have tomorrow off and will work on Tuesday as well. Let's hope things go ok. I have found the one course I did write will no longer be running:j:mad::mad::mad: What a waste of two weeks work.
Still it has been a great weekend. Let's wish for a good academic year.Aiming for a minimal spend 20220 -
I hope the new job is going well
I'm kind of swerving away from shared ownership, as deep down it isn't what I wantideally I want ex-council with a big garden. I know the perfect house, ticking every single one of my boxes. There is the teeny tiny little problem of my parents living there though :rotfl:

Hi Dizzy, I know that feeling of the parental home being awesome.....!
This week has been a whirlwind, my class are fabulous, although I've only met 16 out of the 18, maybe soon to be 19 of themThey are very cute, but ability wise, I think I've got my work cut out with some of them.
The working practices of the school are very different to what I'm used to, and I had a major wobble after my first day with the children that I couldn't talk to adults, only children, and that everything I was thinking of doing was going to be rubbish.
KW, DD, my parents and some friends talked me down off the ledge and I realised I had to gird my loins and talk to the head about how to adapt what I was thinking. She was amazing, really helpful, passionate and excited about what I'm going to do with the class, and I came away feeling much better.
I have a TON of work to do this weekend and family loveliness lined up too. I got up at 6:30 and have already made pizza dough, got bread on the go, some washing from last night out on the line and have started the task of adapting my plans. It's going to take a while, but it'll be worth the effort, not least for my peace of mind!
Aaaaaah, I can just hear KW has got up - poor chap has been working for 12 days straight again, and he deserved a lie in (yup, 8:30 is a lie in for him!!)
He's built my office area in our room, and today we're going to sort it out - get rid of the plastic crates full of my tat and put them nicely on the shelves etc. I can't wait to have my defined work space rather than being on the dining table. I have a habit of taking over all available space, and it's not nice for when we want to sit down and chill out.
I've also joined a choir! It's one of the type that you go along and belt out old pop songsI went along for the first session on Thursday and think that it's going to be lovely to get to know some people in our town and have something to do that is totally for me.

I am! It's manic but 99% of the time I'm loving it
My class are soooo cute, the parents friendly and I love my new commute over a different set of hills and only one narrow road to deal with, rather than 2 miles uphill on a single track road with manic horsebox/white van/yummy mummies careering down the other way!
KW's parents came over today for the first time and love the houseHis mum was dropping wedding hints lol. One day.....
DD is much happier now we have 2 gorgeous kittens, who invaded our lives a week ago. She even wanted to invite a friend over for the first time since we moved (hopefully next weekend). The kittens are so fun and very inquisitive and I'm blaming them for me being ever so slightly behind on my work this weekend0 -
Kittikins congrats on the additions to the household. Glad they are settling in well and baby kittens are sooooo lovely and cheer everyone up.
Yay for KW's parents. I hope you have a good rest of the week. You sound really happy - hurrah. Only a few week's madam then we have half term.Aiming for a minimal spend 20220 -
One week to go til half term, and I'm full of cold and fever, grrr!
School is going well, I've settled into it more, and am enjoying being treated as a person with valid ideas and opinions after last year's horrors.
My class are rather lovely for the most part and the parents friendly. KW and I now have an allotment. The council sent an email out to everyone on the waiting list with photos of a very overgrown plot; KW was the only person who was interested (he likes doing hard work!) It's all very exciting as within a couple of visits, he's got it pretty tamed.
I'm looking forward to a bit of a rest at half term, it's all been very full on recently!0 -
