Is your soda bread the same as ours? Or is it a loaf? We call ours soda farls. Just interested as I've never tried to make a soda loaf.

Hi twink,
Yep, the tesco soda bread is what we call soda farls. Gosh thinking about a bacon soda is making me hungry now but I've got pizzas in the oven so no room to put any soda bread in.
Many thanks to squishy's brother.

Enjoy the time with your sister.
I have just read yesterday's thread about what happened and I have steam coming out of my ears.
Whoever it was is so low they could limbo dance under a snake!
Please report it as this is not the first time and it is getting more and more spiteful!
Big hug to PP and the dirtiest look imaginable to whoever was sad and spiteful enough to bully an ill woman.
The very best of luck at the hospital and you deserve a bit of good luck.
Not much OS done today as took youngest DD outto an outlet designer centre to get birthday presents for her big sisters.
She has been saving for weeks and we got some lovely things (at about a third of the original price!)
Came home and older daughters have tidied living room and rearranged furniture to make best use of the space and cooked our tea - home made spicy rice, salad and kebabs.
Just found out that Lidl who used to sell long life cartons of one litre milk for about 34 pence - now charge 44pence - the same as Aldi!
The water board are turning off our water tomorrow as they have work to do outside so will need to fill lots of containers in the morning. That should be fun!"This site is addictive!"

SQUISHY~ what are bacon sodas?
A bacon soda is toasted soda bread (or farl) with lots of butter sandwiched together with a piece of bacon in the middle
Lovely, but not healthy enough to eat too often, so usually a saturday morning treat every so often :rotfl:Good to know my litle brother can keep twink informed when I'm not about - very handy that!
Yes Pink, you are right - it's the same thing as the link you had shown. The nicest bought sodas are the genesis brand from tesco but I can't get them over here so I pick up the Rankin brand ones when I see them in the shop. Not to be confused with sliced soda bread which is really something different. All I have to do now is find a good wheaten bread as well and for tesco to start selling proper pasties again and I'll be happy
And the shop opposite my work allegedly is selling wispas as well - the person I work with has bought them

Just popped on to say hi during a break in "Flash Gordon" (how do I know all the words in this film?)
I really should mention everyone - but I read most of the thread before going out to lunch for MIL and FIL's ruby anniversary and have had some wine and some champagne and some more wine since, so sorry all. I did think of you at the time.
Sitting knitting an ITV digital monkey while watching Flash. Other than that absolutely zero OS going on here. I even resorted to oven bake scampi and chips from M&S last night (yeeuch!). This no kitchen lark is NOT funny.
take care all
will post properly another time . Have hug, I've knitted a load and they're in the corner, one size fits all."You can't get a cup of tea big enough or a book long enough to suit me." - C.S. Lewis0
