Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 6th October. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Well here we are again unable to sleep....
went to bed at 10.30, light out just after 11pm, bingo wide awake, have given up and come through for a cuppa and half an hour on here.
Allotment visit on the cards today, need to pick more beans and check the caulis I did not know we had!!!! also plant the garlic......
Various ideas going round in my head at the moment, cards, christmas present for SIL.........and other bits and bobs........OH is snoring fit to bust..I can hear him through here
oh well.....
Going to drink my tea and have have a butchers at some videos on here...see y'all later

Good morning Csarina, Amie and everyone to follow,
I was in the middle of the most lovely sleep when ds2 woke me to tell me that his arm was hurting. I’ve given him a cuddle and some pain killers and thankfully he seems to have settled, but unfortunately I’m now wide awake.
Work is over for me for another week which is great! Even though I only work in the evenings and I really enjoy my job, it makes a big difference to my day when I’m off because when I’m working everything has to be planned around the time I’m leaving in the evening. It’s so much easier in my week off when we don’t have to work to a strict timetable.
Anyway, today is another day….dd will be working at her Saturday job, ds1 is playing rugby (an away match, so he’ll be gone for most of the day) and I think we might take ds2 out somewhere fun….weather permitting.
I haven’t a clue what I’ll make for tea. I’ll have to raid the freezer for ideas as it’s fit to burst at the moment…but breakfast will be bacon, eggs, tomatoes and potato bread, and lunch will be leftover stuffed breast of lamb and boulangere potatoes.
I'm off to make a hot drink and hope to get a couple more hours sleep before I have to get up properly....
I hope you all have a good weekend,

Good morning everybody,
I was'nt going to post at the moment but seeing as the daily is started I might as well as I might not get a chance until later on to come on the computer. DGS is down having his afternoon nap atm. We've been having a good play all day. I've got some dough in the breadmaker to make some rolls for tea as we're having hot dogs. Vegetarian of course.DH getting materials today and won't be home until 5pm. I don't know if he'll get them all as he got lost this morning picking up the hand rails and has wasted a few hours getting back on track.
The little bike OS bought DGS, the tyre has split already. OS rang up this morning and I asked him did he keep the receipt but he hasn't. Everything's made in China and it's rubbish. Rant over.
I hope you three have got back to sleep. We had a disturbed night as well, but that was to be expected.Have a lovely day everyone. Byeeeeeeee

Morning all and (((hugs))) to all in need, especially PENPIN & Master PINK-WINGED.
Well, I coughed for England last night; it kept me awake until 3 a.m. I should have come on here instead of trying to get to sleep. Anyway, I managed to get three hours unbroken sleep which is better than most nights this past week. This thread cold has been a real PITA. (((Hugs))) to all who have been caught by it, my DIL included who sounded dreadful when I spoke to her last night.
Plan today is to try and get the week's shopping done. I'll drag DH with me because I don't feel up to it all on my own. I think I'll sit in the trolley and let him push me around!
Unfortunately, we'll have to miss the party we've been invited to tonight, unless, by some miracle, this cold disappears by 7 p.m.! I don't mind that much though; Strictly Come Dancing starts tonight - my favourite programme all year! All this week, I've been having very early baths and sitting around in my dressing gown all evening but I've not even felt like knitting, which is unusual for me. I've been enjoying the knitting thread, though.
Well, I'm going to have another cuppa and then have a shower. I haven't washed my hair for about four days and it's desperate.
Hope everyone has a great day.

Morning everyone
No insomniac here 8 hours sleep, waking up at 7 is something of a lie in in reality from my prior life. (((((hugs))))) to those who are having problems sleeping whether short or long term. Why is it that either out here or in the 'van I sleep better than at home. Maybe I leave any cares at home????
I am still very angry that Pen-Pin got that awful PM from a small minded person, and not for the first time, whether it was from the same person or not I do not know. Eventually after being on here for some months you work out how ill she is, as she does not advertise it IMHO, being stuck at home how can she let off steam when upset/angry/hurting/frustrated. she cannot just get up and go next door to a mate who will have a sympathetic ear to lend, and even though her OH is great and has to do virtually everything for her, there are times he will frustrate her, and she cannot show that to him either. This is the one medium she can get to and talk to someone and let her hair down (metaphorically IYKWIM). If someone does not want to read a persons posts then the can add them to an ignore list and that is the end of it, and/or scan over the posts on a thread, not dictate what we want to read. Pen-Pin ignore them and keep going on here. Don't let them win!
Rant over!!!
Jackie0 haven't seen a post from you lately, hope the wound is healing up OK now and you will be back.
Shez/Annie/Ellie glad you seem to have bounced back. (((((hugs)))))) to anyone else feeling just not themselves.
Local market day here today, so that is the plan, stock up with fresh fruit and veg, and see what the latest trend is. Get there before it gets to hot! (28 deg forecast here today!)
Looks like you are in for a nice dry spell at home too, DS playing Hockey for Gloucester 1st Team today so he's very pleased about that, then he will drive to Nottingham to see GFand come back tomorow night.
Better get off as on dial up.
Take care all

Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?0 -
Morning. I managed a reasonable sleep. Now back to the daily business. " kids to take to work at 8 and 9. why cant they start the same time???? it would save me 10 miles
I start at 1300 today. I think the family are going to Penzance on the train, only £4.20 with a railcard, so cheap enough.
Court went well yesterday both were guilty. I like that word :rotfl:
