Hi Jayward -- Hope you enjoy being a part of this group but it is quite addictive
Well have managed to empty 1 freezer and it is all defrosred and cleaned so I am pleased about that -- only 2 to go!!!Actually 1 cos I will leave 1 stocked up for dd2 who is staying home cos of her job and probably partying!! I am going to miss her and dd1 sooooo much DS1 lives and hour and a half away so am used to not seeing him all the time.
Right have good evenings whether its shaking your stuff as in Strictly Come Dancing or whatever.Try and do a good deed every day.0 -
Hi
Welcome Jayward.
Someone asked a few days ago how come I always got such awkward lodgers, the answer is, I don't get awkward ones, I'm just a curmudgeonly old s*d & a very difficult landlady.
Hugs to all, enjoy your stay with your sis, pp.
Hugs Hester

Afternoon all,
Nelski, I hope the kitchen's progressing well and those men in shorts aren't distracting you too much!
Math, thanks for the reminder about X factor tonight. The only thing that spoils it for me is Mr Pink muttering the whole way through it about why we have to watch it and saying it's all staged etc etc. Still, I don't care, I love it!
Chalky, so glad the challenges are working for you. I can't believe how organised you are for Christmas! I hope the fundraising goes well.
Chameleon and jayward, Welcome!
Hester, I think you sound like an amazingly tolerant landlady!
Penny-Pincher, Have a good time with your sister. I really really hope you reported that pm this time. As others have said this isn't the first time, don't give whoever it is the oportunity to do this to you again.
Well I finally got back to sleep this morning and slept soundly through Mr Pink taking dd to work and ds1 to rugby! :j The little one wanted a bath this morning so I had to remove his dressings....the scars are much bigger than I'd hoped but it doesn't seem to bother him and at least they seem to be healing well with no sign of infection. I've got him all trussed up like a chicken again now.
It's a gorgeous, warm sunny day here so I did some tidying in the garden then gave up and put my bikini on and sat with a book for an hour....bliss! What is it with our weather? It poured all summer and now I'm sunbathing in October?
This afternoon I have made Loublue's mars bar cheesecake....it doesn't look anything like hers did and I've just worked out why. I misread and only added 150g of cream cheese instead of 250g
Oh well, I'm sure it'll taste fine. Pizza dough is in the breadmaker for tea and Mr Pink has been despatched to the freezer to see if he can find some toppings....goodness knows what he'll come in with.
He and ds1 have been watching the rugby this afternoon and it's closer than they'd hoped for.....Aussie I daren't tell you what he said about the Australians or you'd never speak to him again!
Right off to make this dough look like a pizza,
Take care all,
Pink0 -
Afternoon :hello:
PP - ignore the sh*t-stirrer. Post what you like - we're all listening ((hugs)). By the way, when you go into King's, let me know which ward you're on and what the visiting hours are. King's is only a few streets away from me - about as close as I used to live from you before I moved house!
jayward - welcome to Old Style
Anyway, I haven't been around much lately. I'm still being woefully un-OS, but will need to pull my socks up soon so I start having spare cash again
I've been to the gym FOUR TIMES this week :T I don't seem to have lost any weight yet but I'm approaching it from the "get fit" perspective rather than the "lose weight" perspective, in the hope that the other will follow naturally!
I have been trying out various classes. Today I discovered that Step is NOT for me, as it presupposes some degree of co-ordination
All the ones I've tried so far have been full-on calorie burning type classes, and I'm looking forward to sampling some muscle toning and holistic classes. It's all inclusive so I might as well try everything!
I'm going to the opera this evening with my mum - I'm reviewing it so have got free tickets
Tomorrow we're having our Harvest Festival service followed by a harvest lunch.
Enjoy the rest of your day
Love Rzl xx

Finanlly went back to bed at 5.15am managed to sleep until 9.30 when OH brought in my brekkie, up, wash and off to the lottie...anyone want some kidney beans???????we picked 3lbs this morning and I still have 2lbs in the fridge from last week.....guess whats for supper????? I also dug one of the celariac, we are having sausages, mashed spud and celariac, beans, of course, carrots and sweetcorn...........onion gravy made with red wine, ok its the dregs from last night.........apple and rhubarb crumble to follow. Have a chicken defrosting for tomorrows supper and need to put a loaf in. OH is just shelling 3lbs of borlotti beans ready to freeze.
Well we are having a gay time here at the retirement complex, one chappie banged his leg which would not stop bleeding, so he was whisked off to the local hospital. The lady who used to live in our flat fell last night and has broken her hip, so she too is incarcacerated...........her grandson turned up on our doorstep, did we know how to get into her flat he could not work the key safe.poor chap has just flown in from South Africa...to be greeted by the news that Granny, who only came in from SA 2 weeks ago, has fallen and is in hospital, all he wants to do is sleep and he has to go trolling of to see her.
Who will be next I wonder, as long as it isn't either of us!!!
Right I am off to give OH a hand and put the bread on, SCD tonight, rock on!!!!!Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -
Afternoon all - have just skimmed the thread as i'm self inflicted but am absolutley incensed that someone's having a go at our pen-pin again - grrrrrrrrrr - you post away hon
Went to see Manu chao last night at brixton and then had to do the Last Train Home Dash - dbro missed his proper one and had a 40 minute walk but he says he has no hangover so that's maybe what I should have done. Fell asleep on the train before it left waterloo and woke up just as it was pulling into my stop - result. couldn't be bothered to walk home so stayed at dd's - right next to station - double result. little dd was there as well so dgs didn't bother me much except to shove a rather impressive potty and contents under my nose and tell me that he was a "berry good boy Nana - Look poo!" met exoh's newish gf for the first time and she is lovely.
plans today are to do a massive clean up of the [STRIKE]hovel[/STRIKE] des res and then have a dvd night. little dd didn't want to come home with me so is spending another night at her sister's so I'm going to have something meaty for tea to celebrate her absence. Tried to give exoh the fixture list so we could sort out daddy weekends again and he said that she doesn't want to come to footie with me any more - she confirmed that this morning -
can't blame her really as it's all a bit doom and gloom (losing two nil as I type) but it feels like the end of an era as we have been going together for the last 6 seasons. Still it makes organising the weekends a bit easier and gives us all day on saturday awaydays to do something else and I can have a pre and post match drink when i go
well I'm rambling in a sort of hangovery and avoiding lots to do kind of a way so enjoy the rest of the day everyone and hugs to those who need them
stefI'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 20080 -

BARGAIN RZL~ well done on the gym visits, you made me feel tired just reading about it!
STEFEJB~ hope the hangover eases.
HARDUPHESTER~ you dont seem to be a curmudgeonly old s*d (but i do like the description;) )
have to share this joke with you... defo one for the ladies
One evening a husband, thinking he was being funny, said to his wife, "Perhaps we should start washing your clothes in Slim Fast. Maybe it would take a few inches off of your butt!!" His wife was not amused, and decided that she simply couldn't let such a comment go unrewarded. The next morning the husband took a pair of underwear out of his drawer. "What the Hell is this??" he said to himself as a little "dust" cloud appeared when he shook them out. "April," he hollered into the bathroom, "Why did you put talcum powder in my underwear?"
She replied with a snigger," It's not talcum powder, it's 'Miracle Grow'."
found a spag bol (could be chilli  ) in freezer so thats tea boxed off.
only a few hours til Strictly, :j (NOTE TO SELF,MUST GET A LIFE!)

Wellllllllllllllllll, we've schemed, plotted and planned
If we sell the house now, we'll need a mortgage of £90,000.
If we wait 5 years, we'll need approx. £75,000 - that's if we don't save any money at all. As long as mr tru doesn't lose his job (no chance of that happening), and we save, then we'll need a mortgage of £51,000. Course, that's been worked out on today's house prices
Cornwall would be ideal, there's 2 areas in Devon that we really like and in fourth place is Somerset
