Get paid tomorrow and the first bit of PPI is coming in at the same time so tempted to get a mini-statement from the cash machine just so we can look at it! Been staying frugal with the spending and managed to keep £300 in the account from December which is pretty good going I reckon. As soon as the wages are in that's getting transferred across to emergency fund. Then we're going to work out how much we still need for that fund and take it out of PPI money. That will be step 1) completed in January! Going to work hard on step 2) next and see how long that takes us.

PPI first bit of money is back so that's just been transferred over to emergency fund along with a bit of leftover money from December wages, a quiet Christmas really helped! Spent a bit of time looking for new boots and jeans today and ended up with end of the sale bargains, Tesco leather boots for £22 and M&S jeans reduced to £1.89!! Double checked with shop assistant as they had about 6 different labels on, none of which actually matched the jeans anyway. Also got a new laundry basket as ours literally fell to pieces the other day as I was halfway down the stairs with it. Really pleased with my bargains.

I know, £1.89 is ridiculous, my last pair were £4 from a charity shop:rotfl:

    1) Re-fill emergency fund -DONE
    2) Put aside 3 months of "bills budget" in case I don't secure another post as soon as this one finishes - WELL ON THE WAY
    3) There's a teeny bit left that we can use for a few repairs around the house, minor things but that irritate. - HALF TERM SOON FOR THAT
    4) Carry on being frugal and carry on saving up while I do have a good wage coming in - A FEW WOBBLES FROM DH, but mostly ok

Been shuffling some money around and the PPI has now come in so savings look healthier than they ever have done! Trying to resist the spending urge and throwing myself into work and exercise (both free!) to keep me occupied. Half term is coming up soon and I want to use it to get ahead with school stuff, get a few jobs around the house done and sort out my crafty stash too.

Friday tired on a Monday after waking up every hour last night, but a relatively easy day at school today. NSD as well as I don't go anywhere near any shops on my way to and from work. Hubby has done a food shop so about to see what he's forgotten that I need to get tomorrow!

Updated the numbers today as big bills have gone out.

Paid off £11408 off our original £24922 debts from when I started this diary 18 months ago so feel really pleased with that. Great to have a real sense of slashing the debts down. Plenty still to go but feel like we've made huge progress in a relatively short time.

Transferred another amount over to savings for the three month fund and am really happy to see that growing too. Most of it is from PPI but also any of hubby's overtime and extra that I get above and beyond the usual bills.

Half term this week so a chance to get on top of housework, paperwork, menu planning and cleaning. No idea how we manage to make such a mess in such a short time tbh but at least that should keep us away from any major spends! MOT due Tuesday but not expecting much beyond that and some birthday pressies for the boy - he has no idea what he wants so looking for a few things with him tomorrow.

£6.18 in surveys this morning plus creeping closer to my £50 on YouGov as well. Rang PPI company as there's one payment still outstanding, turns out it's sat on their desk waiting for someone to process it! Wrote myself a list of things I must get done this week so feel like I've won Monday already :rotfl:
