Decided, if it all works out, staying where I am till half term then starting in the new place after half term. Makes sense to get in there as soon as I can really as it will make my job easier in the long term. Quiet day at home today, especially as I'm losing my voice! Got to sort out house insurance and see if I can get it cheaper than last year and then got some side hustle work to complete by the end of the day. Another NSD planned as there's plenty to eat, unless I splash out on some throat sweets or a lemon for a hot lemon drink.

Voice is better today which is good because I'm back doing school admin this week so lots of answering the phone which is hard with a voice that's really deep and croaky. Not much happening this week so main spends will be food and petrol. Want to tackle our bedroom this week as it's become a dumping ground over the last few weeks and the floordrobe has grown into a clothes mountain. Need to go through my clothes and make sure they're all sorted for going into work full time after half term, and got my £60 Next voucher to use towards it. Starting to think about Christmas too and plan ahead for pressies. No-one wants much really and it's probably going to be a fairly quiet one which is no bad thing.

Been reading back and worked out our debts are £9050 less than they were this time last year, pretty pleased with that, would love to get it to a total of £10000 less by the end of December if we can, Sunday roast to celebrate this evening (reduced M&S chicken too :) )

Work this morning followed by housework and a teeny bit of gardening this afternoon. Popped into Next and bought a new pair of trousers as my old favourite black ones are almost wearing out! Had to buy a size smaller so that was a surprise and used some of my vouchers so it felt like a nice treat. No big spends in the next week or so and hubby gets paid next Thursday so we should still be in the black by the end of October.

Woohoo pay day tomorrow and the taxman has got himself sorted again so I earn exactly what I should plus an £89 refund from the previous week. Am leaving it in the account ready to pay towards some of the November bills before we have to dip into the savings pot. New job is starting straight after half term in a slightly different role but means I am in the school ready for when the other one starts and also means regular pay as long as payroll can get everything sorted in time.
Plans are now to spend some of half term getting things ready for me being back in work full time after a visit to my olds and a friend. Weather is lovely today so might get some more gardening done while I can once I've finished work.

Winning today already with £20.38 from side hustle as they forgot to pay my mileage last month. Going to leave it in main bank account to go towards this months bills & debts. Got lots of bits and bobs to do today then having a crafting night as 'the boys' have a film night planned.
Already volunteered to help out with Parkrun tomorrow rather than run it as I've got bitten by some horrible insect and am really allergic so not running while the bites go down as they make me feel dreadful. Does mean that I'll have to be up early rather than loafing in bed, so hopefully can get more niggly jobs done then too.

  • I hope the insect bites go down, it sounds unpleasant. Good to get some money in from side hustle :).

Busy few days and not posting on here. Visit to my mums and then to see a good friend who cheered me up no end. Then home and a spectacularly lazy day today and a much needed mini shop to keep the kids in food as they are eating loads while they're off this week!
Money wise we're brassic in the current account till hubby gets paid on Thursday and I get a few quid on Friday too. Start full time at new job on Monday and should get paid on 15th of month for the first couple of weeks then will transfer over to the 23rd from whenever the mat leave starts. Just got to make sure we're really careful and transfer money across from savings to pay the bills until all the wages are sorted out.
