Went out to a garden centre that was having a sale and picked up a few bits and bobs then went for an hour's walk in the countryside around it. Just got to plant the stuff up instead of leaving it to die like I usually do!

Up later than intended but a lovely night's sleep so feel ready to get a load of stuff done today. Meeting up with friends later this afternoon to do some stitching so want to try and get a lot of housey stuff done before then and trying to persuade hubby that it would be good if he helped out a bit too!
Working all day tomorrow and Tuesday/Wednesday morning so need to get clothes and food organised so we aren't rushing around each morning. Still in the office but it's the whole 'going to work' bit I like as it means I can't loaf around, and they pay me - eventually!

NSD because I was at work, woohoo. Took my own little packed lunch and we've menu planned the week out so we shouldn't need much this week at all now. Should also get paid on Friday this week as they messed up last week, which gives the taxman even longer to sort out the new code. Fingers crossed that means a couple of hundred going into the bank. Hopefully I can do some work at same place next week too and put some of that aside for a few spends over half term. Had to pay car insurance and got to sort house insurance by end of next week so will see how money's going before I decide whether to pay it in full or instalments.

Yay for another NSD and another morning of work, plus managed to get an additional morning on Thursday this week as well as tomorrow. All in all am enjoying being in a school office, and enjoying just getting on and working. Also means we are having to be more organised at home which is no bad thing. Moneywise it isn't loads but will help until the new job starts, and until it pays which will probably be towards the end of a month. Keeping a very careful eye on our bank account is also helping as we may need to use the savings to tide us over the change over period between jobs/pay.

Work again this morning, then helping out with a harvest event at church this afternoon. NSD so far too, going for a coffee with a friend later but her turn to pay. Transferred the few cashback pounds to one of the debts, nice to see it going down a tiny bit. Work lined up for next week all day Monday and Tues/Thurs mornings in same school so at least I know where I'm working and how much I'll be paid. Got to decide now whether I stay there for a few more weeks or take up an offer at my new school to start early but in a TA part-time role with perhaps the opportunity to do some supply too. Only issues are that it will be monthly pay not weekly and I don't want to start working there part-time and then there be an expectation that I'll hang around and work for free the rest of the time if that makes sense. Still nice to have two possible temporary jobs to choose over!

  • Very nice to have two temporary jobs to choose from :). The advantage of working in your new school would be you would start to get to know the staff and children, I suppose.
