Felt like we were doing ok but seem to have been bobbing to the shops quite a bit, without realising it so looking less rosy than I thought. Going away on Saturday but self catering so going to try and keep the costs down with plenty of packed lunches and taking stuff from the cupboards. Worked yesterday on a side hustle job so that's a bit more money coming in fairly soon, possibly tomorrow if the firm I worked for get their act together and hubby is doing overtime tomorrow and Saturday before we head off. Going to hunt out some free or cheaper trips out using vouchers for when we're away but the most important part is time away to be lazy!Mortgage £119,533 going down slowly

Lovely relaxing holiday, didn't do that much but everyone relaxed after a busy few months. Seem to have overspent quite a bit but mainly on eating which is weird because we took loads with us. Both kids are going through food like nobody's business so blaming them. Back to dull old housework and sorting stuff out for the return to school for both kids so shouldn't be much expenditure apart from uniform for the boy which is budgeted. End of August pay days for me and hubby so it seems like a ridiculously long month. £20.01 cashed out from surveys over the hols so that's going in the emergency fund too.Mortgage £119,533 going down slowly

School uniform bought today apart from shoes & getting paid on Friday for some training I lead recently so thats paid it back. Still sticking to the menu plan and trying not to spend much as both pay days are next week.Mortgage £119,533 going down slowly

Feeling really angsty about not having a job to go back to in September especially as a lot of my friends are teachers so getting their rooms ready. We have enough money to see us through the bills in September and October but then we run out of funds unless I'm earning a fairly decent amount. Still not spending much but some big birthdays coming up in September too so that's hard to manage and keep as much saved as possible.Mortgage £119,533 going down slowly

Was a maternity cover and the teacher is coming back early. Going back on supply unless/until something more permanent turns up but not much out there at the moment.Mortgage £119,533 going down slowly

Swings and roundabouts day today, the boy's bed collapsed as one of the side pieces snapped in half & can't be repaired so new bed on order £66 spent. Took a gift card from work into Next to see how much is on it, expecting £10 or £20 tops, to find there's £60 on it. So reckon I'm just £6 down today. Menu plan from last week worked well and we've still got plenty in the freezer to use up this week. Going to get the teen to bake a few treats to boost the food we have got & see how far we can go without spending anything this week!
Edited: Just got a £5 voucher back in an email and 75p on a survey so just got 25p to find now and I've broken even todayMortgage £119,533 going down slowly
