The only problem I have with the DVD boxes is at my usual pillar box on a Monday morning and that is due to it being full ;)

What is all this complaining about the volume of postings ? A cube and M envelope this Monday, L envelope next Friday and a S envelope the following Thursday, 4 items in 3 weeks. Received items is only just keeping up with postings !

Well, like you I have had no more than 2 items to post each week for the last 10 weeks and received very little post in, but most of them had to be sent from the PO' which means a special journey for me.
The next schedule is 4 items incl. a cube, all at the PO again, but I suppose there will be more items to test out Christmas deliveries.

I'm having trouble with the normal postboxes, like the first one you posted.

    I don't know why!
Some "standard" post boxes have a smaller slot than others - I can post CD/DVD boxes in one box near where I live but they will not fit in the other one at all :)

This might be a silly query, but has anyone else had problems with fitting CD/DVD box items in the post box?

I have to queue up with them in the post office as they just don't fit where they are supposed to.

I have had this problem (despite using the same postbox, so I know the postbox is not the issue). I assumed they'd sent me an incorrectly sized foam insert (i.e. one that was thicker than normal). The CD/DVD box certainly appeared to be thicker than usual.

Must be balancing out mine :D:p I've got another week of 4 items after the week of 6.

I've noticed that I have more items from the PO than previous stints too...as well as more Saturdays than I've seen before.
Also had some weeks with 16 items received.
Interesting that it's so varied for all

I'm finding that this cycle goes up and down - Outgoing is 2 or 3 busy weeks of 4/5/6 items across 4 days then 2 weeks of 2 items. Incoming comes in bursts as well - 3 days of nothing then 2 or 3 days with 2 a day.

I'm doing Unaddressed in parallel and there's clearly a problem in that some of the "things to look for" are not appearing at all and others appear twice on consecutive days. Which suggests to me that whoever adds then to postie's bundle at the depot could be getting mixed up. I've e-mailed TNS with the info but no reply.
I need to think of something new here...

I don't get the "post office" thing. I do not have a post office that has a post box either internally or fitted externally. They all have standard post boxes outside that are emptied completely independently of the post office collection times. The only "attached" and emptied from inside the building post box is at the sorting office.

Is this sub post offices versus main post offices perhaps? Mentally reviewing the ones I use - I agree, the ones with a box in the wall usually are main offices (not necessarily ones with a sorting office attached). I can only guess that the ones outside post offices might be on a more frequent collection schedule than those on corners of residential streets because they get more activity. Calling custardy....

Yup,boxes by Post Offices will generally have more collections and are far more likely to be a late/last collection box.
Often referred to in RM as 'known heavy boxes'.
