    Two new regular use recipes:
    Veggie!
    https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/cauliflower-paneer-pea-curry
I make a big batch, it reheats nicely although I haven't frozen it.  Yesterdays batch I par-boiled some potato cubes and added them before the cauliflower which stretched it further.  Keep the paneer in big cubes or you lose it, and the cauli florets small unless you like them crunchy.  Korma paste here, as we wanted something mild but tasty for lunches.

Tonight I wanted a chinese takeaway. Only not, what I actually want is the salt and chilli chips.  I had assumed it was some mystical (buy in the wholesalers!) process but its actually fairly simple.

You have to scroll right down to the bottom for the recipe, past all the waffle.  I had to sub garam masala and some star anise for the five spice, and I halved the chilli flakes - which gave a nicely hot result rather than blow your mouth off.  He who 'wasn't hungry' had the extras and highly rated it. It would have been nicer with better chips, I used the dog end of a bag of 'value' chips that had been lurking in the freezer for ages, and the edible bits of a wrinkled pepper but it was still a very good effort.  I have added some better chips and a jar of 5 spice to the MrT order.

    Thanks! Just been busy.

I was genuinely surprised that I hadn't got any 5 spice.  Usually a store cupboard stand by for me.  Star anise is one of those 'costs pennies, adds so much flavour' things.

The recipes sound yum - especially the chips which are right up my street!😋.
My DD made salt and vinegar potatoes the other night - this is a Nigella recipe and really yum too!

Meh! Lost my post, and control Z didnt work
    Yesterday:
    https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/lemon-oregano-chicken-traybake
Green beans in with the stock.  Lovely
    Today:

Only I used lazy/easy/cheap pre made hoisin sauce.  Did it with salt and chilli chips and despite a mountain of veg between the two of us felt naughty and indulgent.

Doesn't time fly by?  All ok here but too much time on computers makes for sore eyes.  Hoping new glasses will help.

Big spends this month: new glasses!

    Thanks @Chrystal

I impulse bought a years worth of DW tablets today (5.5p a tablet for F'sh All in 1s - on hukd).  I do find it comforting to have stores of regular use things especially now that we mainly rely on online grocery shopping.  I don't have a huge amount of free time and I don't want to spend what I do have in stupid markets.

Had to reset the kindle this afternoon as it had stopped working - then held breath till it restarted.  Had to reset the OHs one a few weeks back, but that worked out nicely as it gave us a new three month free trial on KU just before we went away for the week.  Struggling with paper books at the minute, can't see to read with or without my glasses so my kindle is important.  It looks like it is working now.

I also finally got round to jumping on the premium bonds band wagon and just hope I don't have my usual luck.  The best I can get elsewhere is 0.6% at the moment so we might as well try our luck.  I can't even overpay on the mortgage because I have hit the magic 10% limit for the year (hurrah!).

I haven't bought any jumpers for several months!  kidnapped by aliens...

  • I’m not sure if I should be more worried that you’re struggling to read paper books (though hopefully you have a good optician to sort that) or that you haven’t bought jumpers!
