Ooh, all this spa talk is almost making me want one! 😂 I've never been to a spa, never thought it would be anything I'd like, but maybe I need to give it a go...
And yes, do come and join the premium bonds brigade if you can't find anywhere more suitable!3 -
@astrocytic_kitten it was the ren Moroccan rose ritual, was lovely. Remembering and connections is part of what makes me good at my job but it is hard to switch it off. I like ESPA too. The 'handpicked hotels' spas have been the best ones, locations work and they don't overbook but they don't do ren
@greenbee, it'll be the Ritz and a limo at this rate.
@Cheery_Daff if you ever fancied teaming up with Greenbee and I, I suspect we would all get on! I was never keen on the idea, waste of time, too much to spend on me. I could just go swimming, etc. It is very much about the right place, and going with someone who also enjoys it. The worst one was badly organised, over crowded and half the things not working, the best was country hall with Lilly filled ponds, nice spa, lovely walk, good lunch. Both cost about the same. Generally speaking avoid anything on Groupon/Wowcher/bookable at short notice. A friend said of a very expensive place that it was a lot of money to sit round in her dressing gown, but she had booked v expensive day with no treatments.
Still muttering about premium bonds. Pensions are probably more sensible. He is maxing employer match and Prudent1al are not covering themselves in glory - people cant draw down, payments not crediting and no statements for years, 'computer says no' problem so we wont top up his work one. My work one is performing better, is salary sacrifice and they add the employers NI, but its a few years till I could access it if we saw the dream property. Overpaid 2% off the total mortgage this month using the regular saver cash, which seemed both sensible and exciting. Am still considering premium bonds or S&S ISA, probably Nutm4g again as M0neyfarm seem to be incapable of responding to my email about why the direct debit isn't working!

Like you I am muttering about PBs. With no interest rates to speak of they seem the best place to shelter money. I might even have a few wins. On MSE the consensus puts the rate of winnings at 0.8% with average luck, whatever that is? I also feel I should have a S&S ISA and when things settle I will do this too.
All the spa talk is making me feel wistful...It is exactly what I need. A complete MOT!If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

@Cheery_Daff - if you'd like to join us for the Ritz-&-limo experience at some undefined point in the future, that would be lovely
@redofromstart - not only do we need to not try anywhere new ever again, but also avoid the weeks around valentines day.
I need to do EOY pensions/ISAs at some point. Work pension is dire, but I have a couple of others - which need sorting out as they are in far too many funds.
I bought myself a wax bath for my painful hands and feet at the weekend, and it has been fabulous for the aches and pains. Plus they are lovely and soft and smooth.5 -
I've never been for a spa day before so I've no idea whether I would enjoy it or not. I hope you get to go on one soon Redo.
I also hope that DS enjoys his eighteenth birthday, I feel sorry for young people turning eighteen at the moment as they'll miss out on having a big celebration. I hope you find a way of making it special for him.
I've got a few premium bonds but mainly because the money is completely safe and it stops me spending it. It's nice to dream of a big win so having them gives me hope if nothing else. Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

Do you find yourself accidentally buying old lady new jumpers?
Does the prospect of snow and a week without a boiler see you reaching for new knitwear?
