We should do some research on spa days, just in case they're ever a viable option again. In the meantime, I'm melting a batch of orange and cinnamon wax to use later tonight. I've also discovered that the mojo bracelet I used for motion sickness might actually help with the joint pain and fatigue - I actually read the website when I ordered the replacement (it was due this month, as is my mum's, which she uses for joint pain) but didn't pay it much attention... however, the joint pain has been better in the 24 hours since I swapped to the new one. I should probably post my mum's...5 -
@astrocytic_kitten quality is ok, the long merino/cashmere dressing gown for example is lovely but like all of that type of fabric bobbles quite quickly. Better than my L4nds End merino bits at comparable price, not as nice as John Smedley outlet. Prone to shrinking if you forget to sort the washing.,My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

I'd love to keep your cat for a bit redo (she writes wistfully) - the flat isn't very animal friendly unfortunately. 😿
I love day spa days! I've been to a few over the years - several times my sister and I went to The Sanctuary in Covent Garden which we really enjoyed - there was a swing over the indoor pool and years and years ago in the 70s Joan Collins made a film there (The Stud) where she swung on it naked! I never tried it, even though I was at my best weight, just in case I fell off (I hate going under water with a vengeance) - DSis did though and didn't manage to fall off!🤣. We have found a nice little day spa near to where I live and have bought days there for each of our birthdays. My birthday is coming up soon so I think we will do this again once the restrictions are lifted. It's so relaxing and the girls who run it are lovely. You get a relaxing hour in the hot tub with Prosecco, full body massage, facial adapted for your skin type with head massage, full body scrub and pedicure - they use Elemis products.I've put all my emergency fund, holiday savings etc savings into PBs at the moment as the rates are so dire elsewhere. Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟

@redofromstart - not only do we need to not try anywhere new ever again, but also avoid the weeks around valentines day.
I confess at the minute the thought of a spa fills me with horror
Not least because I suspect my swimming costume would be practically see through, the amount of stretching it would have to do to get round me
But of course that in itself is not a good reason - all bodies deserve to be taken care of! I just can't quite get my head round the idea of a spa being a 'treat' - at the minute it still feels more like an ordeal...

I hope you manage a spa day soon, when/if life ever returns to normal. I've never had one but I can imagine it would be relaxing. When I have a head massage at the hair dresser it relaxes me 🙂 .

A quick post to say some great books down to 99p on Kindle. Lots of interesting cookbooks including that much rated MSE favourite of some years back 'takeaway secret' (but only the second edition). I could spend £10 on 10 cook books and still have frozen curry for dinner...
A special mention to Judy Blumes 'Are you there God, its me, Margaret' (I must, I must, improve my bust) which I read and was slightly bemused by in my early teens. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Positives
Today I claimed my mileage for last year. It wasn't a huge amount but still, better in my pocket
Negatives
The DW handle finally crumbled. It is important to my stress levels to order a new one, but am struggling to find one I want in stock. Odd the things that have gone 'hard to get'. It is a want not a need, but the negative energy of doing without greatly outweighs the cost of getting a new one.My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese
