A mixed bag over the last few days, a little bit of spending and another knock on the pension front from our former employer who went bust last year.
Consequently I have spent far too much time reading up on pensions this weekend. I think the solution is a spot of consolidation and transfers before the whole fund gets eaten up by fees and lazy investment choices.
Looks like the big client project will be continuing for at least a few months which is physically painful but great for the business bank account. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

If the project is continuing, can you have some holiday to help with the physical strain?
Sorry to hear about the pensions. I've been ignoring mine, but know I don't have enough saved. I'm ignoring the problem at the moment and trying to get the house finished.0 -
I'll be off for at least a week over Christmas Greenbee
Hurrah for hot water bottles, bath time, books and lollipops.
And big fat fluffy purring cats who make everything better despite sleeping in the ironing pile.My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

If you're still off when I'm on my way back home maybe we can catch up for a coffee... I might need to borrow a cat
Must hang up laundry, reload the machine, make HWBs and go to bed...0 -
Sorry as well to hear about the pension. Good idea though to start transferring it out ASAP.
I've taken a leaf from your book and have starting unsubscribing from various emails. Amazing how many one ends up receiving on a daily basis - mostly of the "come and spend your hard earned cash" variety. Inbox will be much tidier now!:)Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟

It makes sense to stop the temptation, hate missing a bargain but it's only one if I needed it. It really does help If you just don't get the emails in the first place.
I'm trapped by a purring Fluffster. He also has face damage, not sure if it was our evil former stray fighting with him this time. His poor nose is a mess and he is cuddling for comfort. It's very nice but I have things to do.
I've looked into the pensions thing and know where I am moving his pots. Mine will go elsewhere so it's not all of the eggs in one basket. I've remembered to log onto the business accounts and actually pay myself which is a bonus, and I've moved cash round to cover the hefty credit card bill that is mostly my petrol. House insurance this month, but I have chipped £50 off the renewal so pleased with that.
I've even bought a couple of little presents and thought about what else we need. It's a step in the right direction at least.
Lidl hazelnut Florentines are lethal with a good cup of coffee. Must not buy anymore. Must buy some hazelnuts for when I make mine.My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Don't forget to post the recipe if you make florentines. Total yum.If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

Yes, I wait for it to come up on memories each year. Have everything to make a batch this weekend actually, apart from enthusiasm, energy and a fully functioning oven. The missing part has finally arrived but I am now too busy to let them come and fit it.
Project is at yet another peak of busy, this one will run for a few weeks so a real head down, batter on situation. The last few months have flown by, and I expect the next few weeks will be the same.
I ordered some postable presents for a parent and a sibling so that is an advance. Need to just keep chipping away at the list. As usual can't think of anything I actually want.
House insurance renewal is in, five minutes on comparison site and I knocked a third off which is good.
Rosa, thanks - you were right, makes a huge difference. The level changes cause it a few problems but I just shut the door until it has finished that area. I'm going to get another one for upstairs eventually. It helps my head to feel that at least something is getting done, and that I can sit down in the Snug without hoovering first. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Glad the robot is proving useful.
I'm short on energy and enthusiasm... in fact I've been thinking about going to bed for the last hour but too lazy to bother!
I have, however, done my tax return. So that's one thing off the list.
New F/F being delivered tomorrow, sometime between 7am and 7pm... they let you know your slot at 8am. Not sure how that works if it's a 7am delivery0
