Another one with an unexpected day at home, as I had already booked the day off work before our plans changed. So far I have decontaminated DD's clothes and camping stuff - WM just started its 3rd run, the rest is hanging outside. HHI done, and there shouldn't be much of her stuff that needs doing later. As I got into DD's room while she wasn't there to clean it, and I didn't touch the list yesterday, it is bathrooms for me today. Coffee first to build up enthusiasm.
I'm willing to have serious kitchen envy, Dizzy, if you have any pics.
ETA happy birthday, Squeak! :bdaycake:0 -
Well done valli- that is fantastic
Bright sunshine at the moment- hope it stays, the rain is getting a bit depressing, but that black dog is not going to get in.:)
Think a quick tidy round will put most rooms straight again and will water plants and top up flowers-sweet peas from the garden, they have done well this year.
Will read back later but hugs if needed.
Hope its a good day for all

Happy Birthday Squeak! I hear ya about growing up too fast, DD is also 7 in a months time... I can't believe it either.
So, after having sold DS heelies, I've just sold the old Spider-Man bike too - kerching! At this rate I'll recoup the cost of my new tyres in no time, lol.
House is gloriously tidy. Kids rooms immaculate, but I do want to find a spot for DD uniform - no point it cluttering up her wardrobe. I had a bit of a fling and clothes tidy last night, so just those to put away and a rethink of DS Lego storage. I might even rebuild his train station if I can find all the bits, will keep me out of mischief and he'd be over the moon to play with it again.
WM going with old shoes ready to go in the chazza bag when dry. Kitchen de-gibbled, even my desk is tidy :rotfl:
I'm just having a cuppa and will check over my money situation, then I'll head upstairs again. There is some gibble on the spare bed I can rehome. Or flingBossymoo

*Healing vibes* for Mr Jazee and I hope he's well enough to take the dogs to the seaside.Jojo_the_Tightfisted wrote: »The moral of the story, however, is that invasive plants suck. Don't plant them, folks, especially if your house borders open ground, because they aren't going to stay politely in your garden.
Listy please, or linky to a listy, just in case. I seldom have any idea of what I'm doing in the garden. I've got a pyrocanthus going free if anyone wants it - it has nasty, sharp spikes that I don't want around here. But first, I MUST brush my hair today.
Love it! And ditto.
Ground floor and some stairs dysoned, kitchen tidied.Better is good enough.0 -
My head is so itchy, it is driving me crazy.. I just washed & flea combed myself it was *that* itchy.. not a single thing of course but I'm still scratting.. what are the odds I have eczema on the one body part I cannot slop moisturiser on?! Twinkles eczema is having a flare up, thankfully not on her eyelids this time, just her scalp and back.
One extra child so far today.. She got Squeak one of those ridiculous huge Jojo bows for her birthday.. How the h3ll has she got to 7 already??? There should be a law against children growing up so fast!
T-Gel shampoo - the dark, gloopy one - helps where most else fails.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -

Off the top of my head;
Cherry Laurel. All of it. It may make a thick hedge quickly, but seeing as it's poisonous and needs constant looking after to guard against spread and growth, don't waste the space with it. Ever.
Bamboo. People claim some are OK. But you can't guarantee they're labelled correctly - or incorrectly - until a new clump appears the other side of the house three doors down. Just don't.
Buddleia. Butterfly Bush. Lovely, but it needs chopping down to nowt every year or it becomes a tree and spreads down the entire street. We have enough of it growing wild, on building sites and in cracks in old buildings anyway. Rats love nesting under it as well.
Rhododendron - the big, purple one.
Mint. Tasty, but has the regenerative powers of a Hydra's teeth. And whilst it can be entertaining, is it really a good idea to have cats, dogs and all other garden users smelling vaguely like a lamb chop?
Blackberries and Raspberries. Giant tubs would have saved me from constantly chopping these down as they poke up between the patio slabs. And when you buy the thornless varieties, they sucker - and the suckers seem to want to make up for the lack of thorns on the rest of the plant.
Rambling roses if you can't guarantee you will always, always, be able to chop them down to almost nothing every year - or you have a giant house and giant garden and don't mind the prospect of those, the fences and all the houses in the area being covered in the stuff - I'm pretty sure that was what covered Rapunzel's Castle and blinded the Prince. Probably when it suddenly decided to fall off the wall and slap him in the face.
Pyracantha itself isn't too bad - yes, it's evil prickly, but that's why I have one just where scrotes would have ordinarily hoyed themselves over the wall into the back garden. Cover up well, use long handled loppers/a pruning saw/bow saw and take out the lower side shoots (and the growing top if it's getting silly high), and this will still provide nectar for insects and berries for birds in winter. Burns well when it's dried out, too.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
Afternoon all hope everyone is well
Huge congrats for having such great will power and achieving your goal Valli.
Happy birthday squeak.
The tabs and cream took the itching away from my foot bite but it was still hugely swollen so persuaded Dh to do something involving an ice cube and a sterilised needle -I won't go into details but it feels much better today
Currently decluttering ds1s room and found some more washing so the last if anything dirty is in the machine and ds2s muddy sleeping bag is drying on the line. Hopefully I'll get the washing out and dry so I can iron this afternoon but at done point need to nip mils and sort her tablets.SPC~12 ot 124

Hope your DH was well enough to venture out Jazee
Happy Birthday Squeak _party_
Sorry didn't get on here yesterday but I was cream-crackered and fell asleep on the settee. Have finished all the 'storage areas', cleaned, sorted and restacked neatly. Thrown some carp, sorted some for the CS, broken down unwanted boxes and neatly restacked rest of 'stuff'. Don't worry peoples - I still have plenty to sort.
Two loads of washing/drying sorted and now DH's lunch to cook. This afternoon I have the floors to do in the living room and hall to run over and mats to beat up. Then just the bathroom to clean.
Hope you're all having a good Friday
