Today will be about WM & getting it dry (fingers crossed for no rain!), shopping to top up supplies and general tidying.....

oo where did you go greent?
Had a very blue day yesterday. Managed to do stuff but in short bursts with lots of sitting down in between.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Have been away from MSE for a while as things had settled down in life and got busier too. Joining back in now as have been off ill and now losing job at end of August. OH works as a carer on minimum wage and we have DD (nearly 16) and DS (10) so expensive times with a pile of debt. House seems a lot less cluttered but I need to get back into a flying routine to stop the daily build up and overflow! Today is a 30 minute blitz in each room followed by sorting our SOA Mortgage £119,533 going down slowly

Welcome dorastar and good luck xx
I've just made a mahoosive pack up - have a feeling they'll all be hungry this afternoon. Will also pop to shop on my way for milk and bread for granny and gramps' house.
Spoke to my brother, although wifi cut out after about a minute so we had to use actual phones  no idea what that will cost... He was cooking their evening meal and I'd not even had breakfast lol.
Had a put-away and wipe round kitchen, including inside the bin cupboard - we must just fling rubbish at the door, was quite yucky.
Will set off after I've finished my apple and put the guineas in their hutch - says it may rain here. Might give them a bit of apple tooBossymoo
Away with the fairies :beer:0 -
Second load in the WM, both letting rooms dusted (I hate dusting) and I'm just about to remake the beds and vacuum.
Dining room tidied, dinner prepped for OH to cook.
Things straightened.
I'll catch up with Fred now.Better is good enough.0 -
Afternoon all, just sitting down for a minute while lunch is cooking. I've done a load of washing and it's dry and put away. Otherwise, just general tidying round which seems never ending. We've also had a walk to the park but purposely didn't take money for ice cream0

London - there and back by 1st class train, stayed in a lovely 4* hotel (in a suite!!) and had afternoon tea by Tower Bridge, an hour's floatation tank experience, great food out somewhere, the evening at the Underbelly Festival (saw Polly Rae) lunch at Borough Market and we did 'the View from the Shard' - amazing views!
Not at all MSE - but was a lovely way to spend a couple of days - and no children in tow
Hope your day is sunnier today xI am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £200 -
If I didn't say it before, massive congratulations on reaching your target, Valli!
Thanks JoJo; I'm not sure if we have a rambling rose at either end of the garden. I rather fear we have. I've often wondered if I should plant buddelia although there is quite a significant amount sprouting out of walls and chimney pots around here, so - good - I don't have to feel guilty about not doing so any more.
Shower room sparkly, second load pegged out, dog about to be trotted around the block and then back to patchwork.Better is good enough.0 -
Things have eased off again.
I no longer feel the urge to wring his neck - we got the recording finished, we did laugh a lot in the end and something that would have taken him months to get to this stage has now been done in one night.
Could have done with him remembering to set his alarm Saturday morning so that I didn't have to get up, get dressed and leave the house with no more than a mouthful of coffee, though - normally I set an alarm as well, but for once I thought he wouldn't be daft enough to rely upon me to do it. He woke up anyway, which was lucky. He had also cleaned the kitchen before coming to bed after recording, so it was possible to come back at stupid o'clock this morning and have a cuppa without having to discover the cups and countertop prior to boiling the kettle.
We had to leave in a hurry because Himself was performing at a festival - I ended up making sure the gear wasn't trashed on load in or out, as the stagehands were [strike]largely stoned 22 year old girls who wanted a free festival ticket but didn't want to be charge of the composting toilets so chose to hang around the stage area where there would be musicians[/strike] inexperienced and without [strike]common sense[/strike] the knowledge to lift, carry and care for expensive equipment.
Turns out the band has a phrase about me. They say I'm about to Go Full Terminator, as my posture, movement and speech changes completely from relaxed and sitting down at every opportunity to something else when there's something/somebody needing to be sorted out. I suspect the black jeans,
black T-shirt, boots, leather jacket and sunglasses also help the image along. [shrugs].
Oh well. If it works on children, dogs and any male within a hundred yards, it can't be a bad thing, can it? And Himself probably didn't help the image when he described how I'd run for the bus when forced to wear a removable leg cast for several months, even though I wasn't supposed to be running in the first place, as that was how I'd hurt my ankle.
And we've been offered a bit of work at a festival soon, which will require camping in relative luxury (ie, a private secure area, toilet, free food/tea/coffee, access to a hut if the weather is particularly British, etc), some band liaison and a bit of stage management for me. Plus a possible stay at his mother's cottage straight from there, if we can find a mate to bribe to chuck food at the cats for a fortnight. So there will be lots of getting the house ready for coming back, although that's nowhere near the size of task it used to be. He can do that whilst I'm out this week.
Anyway, he is back from the shops and cooking a proper Sunday Dinner. I shall go and collapse into the bath with Gardeners' Question Time. Rock and Roll.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0
