  • Oh, and the freezer has packed up. He threw everything away whilst I was in bed last night, rather than letting it continue to defrost in the fridge and eat it. But hasn't mopped the water up.

Add to that the broken dishwasher and the washing machine making funny noises and I might just have a nervous breakdown.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.

My first week hasn't been so good. Loads of appointments this week and not much flying done yet. I will hopefully catch up a bit on Sunday.

    Valli a huge well done.
Poohbear hope next week improves for you.
Thanks to all your kind wishes for Mr N's birthday, we had a great day. Walked in the butterfly enclosure at the NHM, beautiful, then went into the museum and looked at the whale exhibition and some nature art. After a walk through Hyde Park and a meal, we had a good eve at the Albert Hall. Trains worked perfectly, weather was good so came home and got the nice dry washing in off the line.
    - This morning - er yesterday now - went to gym
    - took MIL to garden centre to meet her friend
    - wudupa
    - picked up lots of windfall greengages and plums from free land in the village, made a crumble and lots left over. Will go that way again tomorrow.
    - did some of a report
    - paid tax bill
    - looked up ferry times/cost
    - did a lot of pruning in garden

    Morning,

I'm up and about, on a weekend with no kids. Go figure!

Ah well, no housey jobs today, but will get out in the garden, I have tomatoes to feed, lawn to cut and weeds to annihilate

Furries are out already but I've put their big fleece over the run for shade.

Had a message from granny that it was 47deg yesterday :eek::eek: or so someone told her who saw a wall thermometer. Probably in full sun all day. Even so, they are "scorchio" and looking forward to coming home. I'm looking forward to it too.

I did get the garden table and chairs out and brushed all the cobwebs off, photographed so I'm going to put them up for sale today. But they do look really nice up there in the sunshine.

Oh, might be going to meet my mum for coffee too, complete with tiny dot of a baby :D

Morning all. I work at the weekends so not much to report really. Gave the bathroom a S&S this morning and left the kitchen tidy so it'll be nice when I get home.

It's my son's 19th birthday today and it feels strange as he's in Pittsburgh doing Camp America :( He did call me at 5am (from a party haha) so I have at least spoken to him :)

Jojo I hope things improve over the weekend. I would have had a nervous breakdown or killed him by now.

Narco thank you. I have an appointment free week next week so things should go back to normal and I can fly to my heart's delight :)

Pigpen, enjoy your coffee with mum.
TattyG well done. I bet it makes you feel good. :T

Today I have cottage changeover. DD does bulk of it with Mr P. I just go and supervise, chat, drink tea etc.

Sunnygirl, I had a lovely chat with my DIL in America last night. She phoned me by accident :D

We have been without gas for cooking since last weekend. I am sure that if you went back on here about 10 years or so you would find the same tale. Last time I had 7 teenagers living here and had more imagination on what to cook for everyone. This week it has been very difficult so it has been mainly not as healthy as I would like and I gained 2.5lbs at SW. Gas has been delivered just need plumber for new valve to be installed. The broken valve allowed 2 full bottles of gas to escape

Tatty.. while I had it my dad was saying stuff like if I was a cow he would have to kill me/shoot me, I got screamed at for attempting to pick up my baby sisters rattle. Obviously it is so contagious they all got it anyway.. they don't even say to keep the child off school at ours because by the time it comes out they have all been exposed anyway so long as they are well in themselves they can go.

Lamewolf - Do you foster dogs?
No, I'm a Carer with a home-from-home dog-sitting service. It's an alternative to kennels, people going on holiday or needing their dog looked after for any other reason, contact the company who match them up with a suitable Carer who then has the dog as a guest in their home. So the dog has his/her very own holiday!

I've been doing it for eight years now, and have had 65 different dogs in my home. When I changed companies (the franchise in this area of the old company closed down) several of my regular clients followed me to the new one. :o
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

Afternoon all. Enjoying the August weather - so far today we have had hot sunshine, downpours and thunder. The washing has somehow managed to get dry outside. In one of the sunny spells, DH managed to saw up the rest of the fallen down shrub from last weekend, so he is now happily restocking his wood store. Bless. DD as ever is back at the stables, and I am off in a mo to pick her up. As you can see, very little flying today. I did run AND empty the DW though, so that might be the full extent of it today!
Have a lovely Saturday afternoon all.
