I am grateful today that it stayed dry while we were out and about so we did plenty of walking, for the nearby town with its walls to explore, for being able to move after yesterday's 102 floors, for badminton with dd, for dh cooking tea, for a planned adventurising day tomorrow, for discovering that the coffee shop over the road from where we are staying has two gf/df cakey options, for dd's verrucas finally looking like they have scarpered.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0

Evening!
Another spend day but from allocated budget again.

Well yesterday was a bit better. Caught up on all the washing and am just about to iron it. Made tonight's dinner and tomorrow's lunch. Will start tomorrow's dinner to cook whilst I'm ironing. Then I will tackle cleaning the oven - the absolutely worst job in the world.
Treat - Got my hair done (saved £18.00 by going on the cheap day).
Grateful for:
Looking human again.
Nice weather for a walk through the park to the hairdresser.
My son managing to fix some weird fault on my laptop (even he doesn't know how he did it!}Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.0 -
Apologies for the sporadic posting - am feeling a bit rundown/groggy for 24-36 hours after my chiro appts so just not feeling like posting or going online etc. But I am still present!
Yesterday wasn't a NSD or a healthy day - had to buy a train ticket for a meeting (will be reimbursed) and had to take piggy back to the vet - he's pretty poorly so will prob have to say goodbye to him soon. Had to use the cc, OH has said he'll contribute too. Will soon get it paid off so not too concerned. Suppose I should 'officially' classify myself as back in debt lol.
Couldn't be bothered to cook last night so OH took me out to dinner at a local place - his treat.
Eager - what is hemp milk? I'm lactose intolerant and wondered if it's any good? I've also been reading about hemp-based stuff to help with arthritis but need to do more research - I suppose when I read the word hemp my mind automatically thinks about the negative associations with it not the other uses!0 -
Hello,
FIL came round last night and we had the steak pie I bought on my weekend away with roast home grown veg. Started crocheting last night and ruined my SFD my buying a second hand crochet bible for £3.
Will go easy in the gym today as my legs are rather leaden. Hopefully get some needed gardening done tonight and maybe even the car hoovered.
Today I'm grateful for
*homegrown veg (the carrots are a lot nicer roasted than the one from the shops, raw there is not much different though)
*obedient kids this morning :A

NSD today which takes me to 5/16
. £2.87 paid off the debt
We had the home visit and unfortunately we won't be getting the dog we wanted as they didn't feel there was enough outside space for him. They suggested that we look for a smaller dog so we'll have another look. I'm not particularly keen on small dogs though, childhood memories of a neighbours jack russell really put me off but we'll see what we can find.
Not much else to report, went for a run yesterday so getting there for the 10k.
Today I'm grateful for a sunny day, getting away from work early and coffee.Mortgage 26.4.25 - £108,500 1.8.25 - £106,362.86

In the spirit of use it up I thought I'd finally do something with the bags of sliced lemons and limes in the freezer (have used a few as icecubes in drinks) - so made orange, lemon & lime marmalade as I love marmalade - and we haven't got any (and I threw the last jar away that I bought as it was just so horrid - I didn't even want to use it in baking) That's taken up a lot of today in the end. I also made a pear, plum and apple crumble - HG pears and plums and a bruised apple which no-one would eat - and coconut sugar (whatever...) which I brought back from one of DD's flatmates -a dnsachets of demerara sugar brought back from our hotel stay. (Still 2 carriers full of plums to process for freezer/ make jam with.......) And instead of going to the shops for rm custard I remembered we had a tub of custard powder lurking on the top shelf (bought for baking custard cookies - yum) - so I shall be knocking some up using that and maintaining a SFD!
I also avoided the shops for potatoes - I'll be roasting some of the new potatoes we had lurking around (bag is dated bbe June something....) - oh, and I gave the guinea pigs some ys broccoli (from July) which no-one was going to eat before it went yellow - they loved it
I will need to go to shops tomorrow though - we will need milk by then, so I shall get some other fresh bits too
Today I am thankful for:
* using up bits 'n pieces and maintaining SFD as a result
* DS2 being over the moon with his (first ever - new to him) phone (DD's old one) even though I'm not getting him a sim in it until school starts - he has been playing apps via wifi

I have bagged another NSD - now at 3/15. Slow but progress is progress.
My friend has decided to organise a birthday bash for the end of the month, I would love to go but I need to know how budgets are looking around then before I can commit as we've already had one birthday bash this month! I'm not sure we can afford it to be honest.
Gratitudes
1) For a hot bubble bath - this weather feels like autumn so a hot bubble bath is needed
2) quick and easy yellow sticker dinner
3) leftovers for lunch - very little effort required in the kitchen todayFebruary Grocery Budget: £190.75/£350.00

Today I am grateful for successful adventurising, for a successful quest: finding the location of a photo of me and big sis taken when I was about 4 or 5 (at the trig point on the Little Orme, overlooking Llandudno bay), for absolutely wonderful weather (very, very windy but also sunny), for playing badminton with dd, for getting good value in everything we did today, for not having our lunch nicked by marauding seagulls, for a peaceful evening, for the train running on time, for coffee shop loos.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0

Celebrating a NSD today, really had to fight the urge to buy crisps from the shop at lunch time.
I won't need to use any food from stores tomorrow as I'm being taken out for lunch & dinner - very fortunate but not helping with the weight loss!
Today I'm grateful for another beautiful day, for a lovely meal out & a show at the Edinburgh festival with a work supplier and a fairly stress free at at work.Visa - £368.99, Car loan (dad) - £3,690
