On our honey moon in Sri Lanka we visited an Elephant sanctuary and it was just the best thing ever - we love elephants and on my diary my 10 year goal was to visit a different Elephant sanctuary - maybe I need to start saving......

Hope everyone has a fab weekend!!!

Not doing well with the NSDs but hardly any of it has been on food except for the usual bread, milk and veg. We've used lots from the freezers and the're still full. I have, however, been stocking up on cleaning products and toiletries (actually the toiletries are just hand wash and toothpaste because we have everything else). There are a lot of really good deals on things that we use at the moment. I'm off to Mr L shortly to stock up on kitchen roll and foil which is half price. It's an initial outlay but will save in the end.
    Have a good weekend.

Today has been a spend day. I ordered some paint and also paid for my car insurance. I had the majority saved, but the best I could find was still £60 more than what I had. I used the credit card, paid off the majority with the savings and will pay the £60 difference when I get paid at the end of the month.

Other than that I've spent the day just cleaning up the house and sorting through piggy''s stuff. I've found a charity to donate the majority to so will sort that out in the next few days. Then I did something I haven't done for a LONG time and just browsed online for stuff I 'want' to buy  of course none of it was necessary, I was just bored and browsing. Luckily nothing got bought but must reign it in. I do need a table to work on when I go back to uni, looked at various expensive tables but have settled on a cheap foldaway one from argos for £18, I'll go and get it tomorrow as I'm passing that way.

Also put a couple of things on eBay, if they don't sell I'll take them to the charity shop. Have also requested that a local charity come and view our old sofa to see if they want it. That'll free up some room in the basement.

Been looking at September's budget already and the vast majority of my 'free' money will go be going towards the credit card. Gonna be a tough couple of months!

Today I am grateful for trains, for time with dd, for mobile tech, for my second crop of rasps, for the washing machine, for a good chat with big sis, for dd spontaneously tidying her room a bit, for my own home to return to.

Oh dear! Bought a chicken. Well, it was reduced and we had a lovely roast dinner. Lots left for sandwiches and soup and I'm just about to start making stock. Hasn't helped the freezer situation but it has been worth the money.
Since C gave up drinking (well, almost) and started going to bed at a reasonable (actually very early) time we've been getting up at the crack of dawn. It's amazing what you can get done when you're up early and there's no one about. It's a beautiful morning and we'll be walking to Mr L to get more cheap kitchen roll.
    Yesterday's treat - a lovely apple turnover.
    Grateful for just feeling content.
