    Morning all,

Spendy day yesterday as I did a top up shop and bought a 14 day pass for a fancy gym for £14. Currently paying £5 per exercise class at the council gym so this will allow me to go to several classes plus swim and go in the jacuzzi!

Today is going be spendy and crazy. I need to take the dog to the vets (leave him there for an X-ray and pick him up tonight). Go feed my friends cats (20 minute drive away). Have the mortgage survey done (need to wait in for this). Go to a gym induction at the posh gym and then do some exercise to make the journey worthwhile. Take one of the other dogs to hydrotherapy. Plus all the usual dog walking and a quick clean before the surveyor arrives. I feel tired thinking about today.

Hopefully they sun will keep shining and keep me motivated lol.

    Yesterday I was grateful for:-

    - the chance to earn extra money
    - a very enjoyable exercise class
    - finding the gym offer
    - giving my frlend a piece of furniture I needed to get rid of and she really needed
    - working with lovely people
    - agreeing about new fence panels with the new landlord next door and hopefully his workmen will put them in for me
    - no rain on my dog walks

    NSD yesterday.
I don't have a garden, any allotments close by and my outside porch is filled with plaster and things belonging to the builders so I think I am a bit of a wash out as far as National Allotment Week is concerned but I do have plans. When this is finished (please let is be very soon) I'm going to put out a small table and two chairs and fill the porch with lavender plants and herbs. I now have a window sill which is big enough to take a small window box so I'd like to put some trailing plants on that. Probably won't finish it this year but I'll get it started.
I was hoping to see cousin and daughter for afternoon tea but I think new baby is causing difficulties so maybe later this month. I'll just have to buy cakes for C and I.
    Gratitudes:
The scaffolding at the front of the building has gone (loud, loud cheer). Only the resulting mess to clear up.
Still eating from freezer and basically just buying bread, veg and milk (even if it is most days).
Email from Cs friend. I'm glad he's keeping in touch. Things might come right eventually.
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.

    Hello,

the kids bunk beds arrived yesterday and they love it (sore fingers though from dismantling two toddler beds and building a bunk). Frees up so much more floor space too. Now they can actually play upstairs, bliss :p.

This month as usual is not going great, I felt the need to treat myself (bargain rain coat, need but still, crochet bible, wool etc etc. and then lending OH money as I can't really say anything about over spending this month) and so on. However, DH and I finally had a wee chat about what we want to achieve/need to buy this year and what it takes to be actually able to afford it. Plus the race we do together is only 8 weeks away and hopefully will initiate a healthier lifestyle (less booze etc).

DD started big nursery now and started getting the 3yo funding at least during term time, so that'll help. And school starts back on Friday, so DS childcare will come down a lot too.

So, was about to do the emu again (or is it ostriches?) but that would just make matters worse. As NSK used to say: onwards and upwards.

    Afternoon all,

So yesterday was less spendy than I thought. I was able to pay for my mascara using points so saved there. I also had padded envelopes to hand to post my ebay sales so didn't have to spend any extra there. I spent £6.80 on postage but the money from the sales covered that. I did pay out for my riding lesson, so spent £30. The lesson was FAB, my instructor made me work super hard so I'm exhausted today, but I always enjoy my lessons with this instructor.

Today has been a NSD. I rummaged around my accounts and sent £32 to my credit card to go towards the vet bill. Feeling slightly less freaked out by all of that now that I've sat down and planned how to repay it.

Went for a walk this morning and again at lunchtime. I also have chiropractor after work. OH has gone away for a few days with friends so it's just me at home, will be nice to have some time to myself.

Today/yesterday (as I forgot to post my gratitudes) I am grateful for:
    - A fantastic riding lesson yesterday
    - Being referred for an x ray appointment at the hospital really quickly
    - Sleeping well recently
    - Planning to help get my finances in order

    Evening all!

    Reporting another NSD today.

Feeling a bit annoyed with myself today, I received £229 in expenses from my work for some travel I did last month and I've put it all towards my visa. If I hadn't ran up debt on my visa that money would be mine now to do what I liked with (to be fair I'd probably have saved it all, but at least it'd have a choice). I suppose it's what my mum would call 'learning the hard way'!

Loving all the chat about homegrown fruit & veg. I'm growing peppers, carrots and spring onions this year, first time I've ever tried to grow veg (my friends find it hilarious for some reason!). I'll pop some spring onions in my scrambled eggs tomorrow.

    Today I'm grateful for:
    - lunch being provided at a meeting today
    - kind & encouraging words from work colleagues about my decision to leave work and return to college
    - the sunshine!
    - in a way I'm glad I feel annoyed about the expenses / visa situation, I'll remember this feeling if I'm ever tempted to use my card again.
    Visa - £368.99, Car loan (dad) - £3,690

Today I am grateful for good weather, for niece's train actually going through to Waterloo so we got to meet up, for a wonderful time POTTERing around Lunnon looking at HP film locations, for sandwich munching, for getting seats on the train in rush hour, for much of our wandering taking us off the beaten track in town, for lovely friend agreeing to spring clean mum's house for us, for dh enjoying his bday, for a good book.

  • Today has been spendy. £40 at the vets for Charlie's allergy tablets. He's much better now though as they seem to have set in. He gets do itchy without them to the point where he makes himself cry NSD I don't like putting his T-shirt on in this weather but it helps when he has a flare-up.

I also treated myself with some money I have saved :D house bits - a wire egg basket holder thing. It's pretty :) and an artificial display for my large vase and raspberry liquorice. Spent £25 but I'm really happy with my spends - I like to make the house look nice and as we have no 'house stuff' budget I'm saving for bits myself as we don't need them, I just want them! :D

I also mowed the lawn today again and cleaned up (again).

  • Keep forgetting to update my own goals...

Saturday was indeed a spend day as popped along to a jumble, managed to get 2 vest tops (that I needed) for 40p and 5 cuddly toys for the dogs to destroy for £1.

    Sunday was a NSD = 7

Monday was a spend day as took DD and friend to theme park - took drinks with us but brought food there (as planned) and then got McD's on the way home (not a healthy day at all)

Today has been a NSD - I thought I was going to spend as had leaving drinks for colleague but someone got me a drink = 8

Due to above drink I was late home and so couldn't make my beetroot chutney or plum jam so need to do that tomorrow.

    Today I am grateful for:
    1. A fun day out yesterday (even if I do ache today)
    2. Hemp milk (I cant believe how well I feel when I drink it compared to how I felt with soya milk)
    3. Evening walks with the dogs (even if the dog misjudged the footpath and fell into a deep ditch!!)
