The Cutting Down / Giving Up Booze Thread (Part 14)

6/15 please and amazingly sat in a place with free booze, it’s the end of the week and I am really not bothered. Not really sure why this is possible this week and not others. Better day professionally speaking, haven’t wanted to throttle anyone all day but still lots of pressure and I have totally messed up travel arrangements tomorrow, going to have to spend a lot more than I thought and I hate wasting money like that.
Rather enjoying my tea and cake actually. Trying to do things more mindfully - if having a glass of wine think about it, smell it and savour for any form of treat rather than just grab glug or chew. If going to indulge it should be an indulgence and enjoyed as such rather than a form of self medication or whatever. Need to try and hang on to this way of thinking, I ‘give’ myself permission far too often for a variety of reasons. Reading others thoughts on when and why they drink helps a lot too and demonstrates that eventually moderation can be achieved for some, Maman, Cathybird etc.0 -

Failed on the AFD's this week, only managed one but I'm not giving up. I might not hit my target but some AFD's are better than none so I'm not beating myself up about it.0

I think a lot of my drinking was habitual, but it slowly morphed from being a comfortable habit into a destructive one. I think I forgot completely that there were other choices I could have made and I think you've discovered that! Good for you. Caaaaaaaake - excellent choice!
20/31 please, Shaggy.Better is good enough.0 -

I decided to be AF yesterday. It's getting more frequent that I have a 2 day rather than a 3 day weekend. My motives are definitely in cutting calories but if it works I'm not knocking it!
It was a bit of a struggle in anticipation and at wine o'clock but once I'd finished dinner and sat down with a cuppa I was fine.:)
12 AFDs please Shaggy.0 -
I’m on 10 please shaggy.Live for the moment and plan for the future0
