    Good afternoon everyone,

Love reading the wise words of everyone. Forgot to say welcome back to the gang ManPants, whatever happens try and keep posting. This is the one thread I do try and check in with, even if I miss several weeks.

I have finally managed to shift most of the Christmas overindulgence. However I'm away for a week on Tuesday. My DH, who is a heavy drinker is barely functioning as he too is 18 days without booze. He is not sleeping, and is quite difficult to be around at present due to his black mood. He says he's not doing this again and he's going to "drink healthily," Oh well any improvement is better then none.

    18 please Shaggy.

I'm calling it early for today, so 12/19. Don't normally do this.

Again, last night, I had the urge to drink. But a cup of tea stopped it. Like I said earlier in the week, I think I've accepted that I'll always feel like a drink, but the achievement is not giving in.

I'm calling it early as I'm fasting today (5:2). I don't have much to lose, but being on this diet keeps me on track for alcohol. Whereas when on WW for example, I just used to factor alcohol in so I could have some every day.

  • 14/21 including today but likely to have some Tomorrow and Saturday but hoping Sunday is AF.

I bumped into an old friend at Christmas in the pub. I arrived and before drinking anything we said hello. I know him well and forgive him everything - he looked at my outfit and said "urgh what's this!".

I had to laugh but in his recollection of events he thinks he told me that my hair looked nice and that I looked nice.

He is convinced that I am pretending not to remember.
(Too much) Alcohol just does such strange things to our brains. I know I need to improve my judgement and take myself home way before I normally do. And eat more and stop drinking when I haven't eaten enough.

    Thank you all

I would have said that too not so long ago but it has really faded over time - at first I found ginger beer would take away the urge when I got home from a hard day at work but now even that has faded and I don't need it - so I do think you will almost certainly find the same, Pollyanna, if that's any comfort? ...

I remember that that feeling well. When I first cut down I drank gallons of water every evening. I needed a glass in my hand.:o

Now I promise myself a cuppa when I get home from a long day but isn't that what 'normal' people do!:D

    11 AFDs please Shaggy.
