  • Summary:
    Outgoings:
    3 x £15 (Crossnet 200 - first 3 months halfprice (network deal))
    3 x £30
    6 x £15 (Anytime 25)
    £10 (eBay selling fees)
    = £235
    Income:
Money from selling phone: £320 (minimal estimate - these phone go for around £380 on eBay)
    Cashback: (3x15)+(3+30)+(2x15)= £180
    Quidco: £15
    Buy Online Incentive: £10
    = £525
    TOTAL: £525 - £235 = £290

Looking at the way the cashback is structured, even if its paid a month after you request it, aslong as you sell the phone before month one's bill is due you can just leave the money from the phone sale sitting in an account and pay quidco £10 and cashback in and at the end of the year withdraw £300 (or £290 if you take out £10 to pay for eBay).

I'm going to phone in a few hours and ask how many of these I can have (I'll be amazed if they authorize my request for 10+ hehe)

I've got a little spreadsheet showing the bank balance across the year by the way, if you pm me I'll e-mail it to you :)

you cant order 10 Thenotsowyzewun !!!

    its strictly 2 per customer.

this allows normal people to take advantage of a good offer / no trading to occur / etc etc
  • Cannot understand some of the maths that posters are using on this deal. From my reading of it :-

    Contract is £30 * 12 = £360 (Cannot see the first three months at £15 ?)
    Then cashback of £240
    If you use Quidco £15
    Buy online £10

So the contract is £95 (360-240-15-10).

By downgrading at month six - you would save a further £90 (6*15) - so effective cost could be £5.

Thenotsowyzewun - where is the deatail on the first three months being £15pcm ?

Not really interested in the deal - more in understanding the maths. The discussion on downgrading after six months has been held many times and been explained in detail over several posts that I've seen.

In the past some of these contracts have matched a Vodafone offer of first 3 months half-price. I don't know if that is still offered by either Vodafone or Orange, but you can find a couple of threads where ambiguity was easily resolved with a couple of phone calls. So check what the offer is now - possibly no longer available?
  • I cannot see the phone being sold for anywhere near the price on ebay quoted by TheNotSoWyzeWun.
As I said OSPS will not honour refer a friend and online together and indeed not at all re refer a friend if that person has ever had a OSPS phone before- "brand new customers ONLY" as they say in the TV ad!
You know what... you can't beat a good bargain!!!

    £30 x 6 (cashback)
    £15 (quidco)
    £10 (buy online)
    = £205

And yea the phones worth £300 (conservative estimate, they seem to go for upto £350) on eBay so I'll be selling it... maybe I'll get a few...

I don't understand this. How can they make up to £350 on ebay? They are freely available to buy for £128.
I'm not being argumentative. I just want it explained to me. Do people who buy from eBay not research prices?
    Thanks.

This is a brand new 2mp camera phone, if you can get it for £128 then I'll buy 1,000,000 of them off you!!!!! They are well over £300 sim free, that's if you can even get them sim free yet!
