    thanks,

    Can't quite follow this
why £15 for friend- I thought it was £30
And secondly- quidco- easy to use? & do they pay out easily?
You know what... you can't beat a good bargain!!!
  • Also further to my post above I don't think you can get both recommend a friend and £10 on line discount on the same deal with OneStopPhoneShop

... but it was my idea in the first place (mak_attack spotted the deal, I spotted the chance to downgrade at 6 months!)
this idea is hardly new, so I wouldn't award yourself all the credit just yet for something that others have been doing for years, and discussed here at length

... and even then you didn't think of 6 months until I said it twice - your first examples were for 8 months, etc

Looked at the small print on this deal (it is now switched to Vodafone - if any one knows where I can get the Orange deal, please let me know).

    Vodafone's small print says
"If you enter this Agreement and subsequently move onto a lower tariff or fail to fulfil your payment obligations during the Term, or you end this Agreement for any reason within 6 months and the relevant tariff includes a subsidised handset, you must, in addition to paying any other charges, either:
    i) return the mobile phone to CPW by sending it recorded delivery to Online Returns...
ii) keep the mobile phone, in which case you agree to pay CPW the handset-only retail price (up to £400) being the purchase price (the "Purchase Price") of the mobile phone"

Does this garp mean that you can't downgrade on VF contract or have they worded it craftily so that it looks like the 6 months only applies to cancelling the contract. What do you think?

It only means you must remain on the same tariff for first 6 months.

in easier to understand language from the order confirmation email:
"Please don't forget you must remain on your chosen tariff for the
    following periods;

    Orange 6 Months
O2, Vodafone and three 6 Months
    T-Mobile 11 Months"
  • Queries
1.If U use quidco then will you still be able to use refer a friend and/or online discount?

2.OSPS have ,in the past, not paid refer a friend with regard to contracts taken out by customers "previously known to us" i.e refer a friend but only one who wev'e never had dealings with in the past, whether currently in a contract or not!

Anyone out there care to comment?

I spend alot of time on this forum and have seen the question of downgrading asked many times but never replied to properly, and have never investigated myself before (which is why I posted this thread originally in connection with my Orange contract).
I'm not awarding anybody credit for anything, but you said 8 months to mak_attack not me, I knew it was 6 because as my earlier post I contacted OSPS and found out I could downgrade at 6.

Also, my earlier calculations were abit wrong, here's what seems to be completely accurate (see next post)
