Those looking for removals - I found a local ‘man with van’ who’s fully insured and often does full house moves with a Luton van. He’s doing it for £240 which is much better than I’ve found anywhere else - were a 3 bed and he’s confident he can do all the furniture. We’re moving the boring boxes and clothes bags into storage now that we’ve already packed to make it a bit easier on the day.

Wow, we've been told by a few companies our 2bed will need 2 Lutons... Which I don't believe as we don't have any wardrobes, just one bedframe and no dining room. Lots of boxes though! Our local van men won't do it as we're moving counties... Sigh.

Looks like it'll be us, a van, a hyundai and a mini 😂
We moved from our flat to this house in a hyundai... Amazing what you can fit in them!!

Congrats Doodlebug! I know what I'll be doing if/when I eventually move in -  starting on making it my own (anyone else obsessed with researching home decor ideas? No, just me then?!)

I've been on Pinterest and have a home decor board set up since my first viewing back at the end of Sept 😆
Won't be moving in till May but atleast I'll have decor, colour schemes picked out the moment i move in!
Love Pinterest, and Instagram too. I've already bought some accessories, and the only thing stopping me buying more is the fact my boyfriend would clock them either being delivered or brought through the front door.  :s

Haha, its taken all my strength to not click "checkout" on all my baskets! We've not bought anything yet for the new house but I've just been lusting over rugs and accessories from white co and anthropology that i can't afford!
  • Urgh MORE enquiries raised by our buyers solicitors. Why don't they raise them in one go? We've had weeks and weeks of them coming in in dribs and drabs

I've been ordering samples - wallpaper, flooring, material, blinds - it's keeping me going through all the delays, otherwise i would have lost all motivation weeks ago.

Same as me, and I reckon you'll be fine with 1 3.5T Luton. I fit my 2-bed flat in one, I didn't have a fridge, but I got a wardrobe, 3 chest of drawers, sideboard, large sofa, double bed, 2 single beds, 2 desks and a LOT of boxes and miscellaneous items in it with room to spare. Just bring your Tetris A-game and you'll be fine!

Yes, this! It's the only thing keeping me going through these lengthy delays - window shopping for all the pretty stuff and daydreaming about my newly-decorated and accessorised rooms!

We'll either be hiring a man with a van or hiring a van ourselves and doing the move without anyone's help. We'll be using our cars to move stuff in to the new house too. Hiring a van ourselves is £98 for 24 hours. I've been getting quotes from removal companies and they're charging £500+ to move the contents of our small 2 bed flat 5 miles down the road. Not happening! :D

My partner missed the cut-off by a week  :s
Tempted to rent 2 of the 3.5T Lutons to move him though, we can drive one each. Plus I have to go get my stuff out of storage so gives us more flexibility on the day. I rented one last week for £50 for the full day from Sixt, which I thought was really great value.
