There was a solicitor in the chain not responding to any emails, for weeks, from anyone. There's an important enquiry that needs sorting as if it doesn't will compromise the entire chain. Turns out that they have left the firm and nobody at the office thought to check the solicitor's inbox. Amazing. :| Now that's been acknowledged it seems like everyone's trying their best to get the issues in the chain resolved ASAP. Still pushing for an end of March exchange/completion but we will see (and keep our fingers crossed).
  • What is going on today - my solicitor says they have sent back all inquiries this morning - few hours later buyers solicitor says they haven't - each time there's like a 4 hour (min) delay in people responding.

Still "waiting" for someone to get in contact with the buyers new solicitor

    joke

Contract for my purchase has landed!! Even though I know I love the house I still always get last-minute panic around signing and exchanging 😂
  • I got so fed up i just sent the information the buyers solicitor has been chasing for, myself. Anyone know if thats an issue? Do all replies have to go between solicitors?
I'll be actually annoyed if that is ok - cos i could have sorted that out directly with them about 2 weeks ago. Thats how long my solicitor has been sitting on this information.
  • Is it inappropriate to send a letter to the seller asking if they know what's going on?? getting so sick of being told the same story obviously a lie by EA every time I call them

    No - do it

I'd say the opposite to Cuddlybearman. I'm paying my agent to deal with my buyers. As such, I'd redirect anything sent to me directly back to them.

I did exactly this... otherwise I am very sure we would have pulled out of this sale a long time ago. I am now in regular contact with the seller, although I’m frustrated that we still haven’t exchanged 5 months into this, with only 3 in a chain... but that’s another story 😴
