Hourly changes this end - paperwork between me and my buyer is sorted so links 1, 2 and 3 of the chain are complete. Still trying to get hold of the solicitor that took over my sellers case but when they do it should be a case of just arranging exchange and they are the last link in the chain.
Nerves are shot to s&^t now0 -
I went to Solicitors to drop some original documents to them and managed to get more out of a door way conversation than any email! Hoping to have everything completed by the middle of March, but it's our buyers solicitors holding things up as they keep sending clarification questions to enquires, but the Buyers are also the ones chasing through the EA agents also.

hippocates1 - We agreed a sale to cash buyers back at the end of August. After 3 months where they kept giving different reasons why their solicitors hadn't progressed it then turned out that they had never formally instructed them. We pulled the sale and re-marketed. After 2 weeks we agreed another sale. This time the lady who wanted to buy owned a large smallholding with her son. She maintained she owned the property outright but when her buyers solicitors started the process it turned out that they were being treated as two separate properties so from November to January they were trying to get to the bottom of it. Then finally that was sorted but there were some issues with their land. Through all this time neither her solicitors or estate agents advised our solicitors. Her purchase of our property was ready to exchange but no progress had been made with her sale. On advice from our solicitor we pulled out. We re-marketed our property on Friday afternoon 19th Feb and agreed another sale on the Saturday. Now keeping everything crossed that this time things will go smoothly. It has all been a nightmare and to happen twice was unbelievable. Fingers crossed this time.1

another update - EA and Solicitor both trying to get hold of this "new" solicitor. I dont know how hard they are trying but they are doing something.
Asked if my seller is chasing too and they said yes as he wants to complete w/c 22nd March!! Everyone else in the chain wants next week and he originally said end of Feb.
Just wondering - if 3 out 4 people in the chain agree a date can that force the last one to comply?0 -
I have had an email from my solicitor saying 'I have a release of contracts to start the exchange but waiting to hear from the sellers lawyers to pass this on', does anyone know what this means please?0
