Finally! Had positive news contracts should be signed on monday. Completing either on Friday 26th or the following week! Relief!
Turns out buyers solictor was delaying the process and really this issue with our previous developer going bankrupt has no affect on the land or sale around this house. I have a few choice of words for him, even the buyers are baffled the hold up. Anyway I can relax for the weekend until monday!
Keep going everyone we will all get there in the end.3 -

can't wait to hand them back haha!

We've been given a completion date of next Friday. All paperwork is completed and the bank has notified us to say that the funds will be released next week. We just need to transfer our deposit to our solicitor on Monday. Part of me wants to not get my hopes up - we've been in this process 7 and a half months now and have had constant bad luck/delays. But part of me wants to just not stress for one week and believe that this will actually work out, and that we will be in our first home this time next week. I think for my mental health it'd be better to go for the latter!
I've still got lots of packing left to do, and no days off work to do it in haha. But luckily there's no major rush to move it all on the first day. Need to sort out utilities, delivery of large furniture, joint bank account, new savings account as ISA closed etc., etc. But that type of stress doesn't bother me as I can manage it all myself and hopefully won't have months and months of delays!

Completion next Friday (26th).
How are you getting on?
This thread has been such a help these past few weeks, especially as I could never see an end to this!
Just want to say I wish everyone the best in this very stressful journey! As hard as it is to believe, everything does all come together when it is supposed to.
thank you so much.
How are you getting on?
We are still waiting for sellers solicitor to catch up, didn’t get the date this week but know it’s getting close....just trying to focus on the fact it will all be worth it once we exchange 😊
I’ll have all my fingers crossed for you next week! Make sure you keep us updated 😊1 -
Slithery said:And you didn't wait for the tenants to vacate before spending any money on solicitors/searches/mortgage etc?
That's just crazy, it currently takes over well over a year to legally evict. Does your mortgage offer last that long?We love the house so the minimal amount we’ve spent so far was worth the risk to us.I have found, through painful experience, that the most important step a person can take is always the next one.
