I feel your pain! I didn't hear from our solicitor till yesterday (two weeks of nothing prior), so nerve wracking something may have gone wrong, and so hard not to think about it!  I'm supposed to be working, but can't help keep refreshing my email, and having a rant here
  • How soon is too soon to contact the EA again... last I heard from them was on the 10th that the top of the chain was making an agreement to rent the house they want to buy as probate hadn't been granted.. just want to know where we stand as proposed completion date was 2 weeks today.
  • Losing the will somewhat, we're in a chain of 3 (us in rented - our seller - their seller who is selling an empty house).  We've been good to go for weeks, and our landlord wants his house back ASAP, but nothing seems to be happening.  Trying to just ignore it, to reduce the stress, but that's really hard to do.  Solicitors seems to have gone quiet for the last few weeks and aren't answering my questions :(
We are also in a chain of 3 and have been good to go for 3 months. These things take time and a lot of stress unfortunately.
Luckily for me im quite close to my landlord and shes really flexible and has been really good (she knows how stressed i get about stuff so keeps telling me not to worry about anything because she isnt kicking me out anyway 😂)
How come your landlord is wanting you out? Is it because youve said youre moving so got the idea in their head?

I would call. You're only asking for an update. Its not uncommon to call weekly for one especially if it puts your mind at rest

Our landlord is pretty good, my last chain fell through before Christmas, so he let us stay a bit longer, but he gave us notice last year that he's getting out the landlord game and is selling this house.  He doesn't live close, and it needs a fair bit of work before selling, so he plans to move in whilst he's doing it up.. he did say he'd not make us homeless, but he really wants it on the market at the start of April, and I don't want to get in the way of that.  If this is going to go on much longer, then we need to let him know to see if we can stay a bit longer, or if he really needs us out.

    Oh okay i see!
To be fair, you can say thats the reason you want it sorted. Ive seen a lot of comments that can make you feel like the bottom of the chain arent important because they rent but you also have people you need to consider.
I was wary about putting pressure on at first but once i started saying "i want it sorted by x time" it started moving. I never threatened to pull out but you can put pressure on without doing that. Maybe you could ring the ea and see where everything is up to?

If he decided he wanted to evict you today you wouldn't even be out by April so I wouldn't worry too much.
