Thanks. There's 3 of us all moving (rental at bottom and my vendor moving into their other property... Must be nice!)We’re the only ones who have to actually move on completion day in our chain. So we’ve got some quotes and provisionally booked our preferred one for one of the very few dates they had free mid March. We’ve told vendor and buyer that’s the day we’re working towards. If it’s delayed for any reason they’ll have to wait until we can secure another date with removals so I guess it’s in their interests to try meet that date. Who knows if we’ll be able to get another short notice in March.
I've got quotes but we can't even provisionally book anything as we literally don't even have ballpark dates.... Obviously everyone aiming for end of March but I'm not sure they'll get there. Early April might be quite nice actually as removal should be less busy!
My partner also has to get a transfer for work so I'm pushing the chain for a best guess to work towards
Fun and games!!
Congrats to all who made it over the line this week!0 -
Can I ask for some advice please?
I have just exchanged and will complete in a few weeks.
I am selling and putting everything in storage until I find a home.
Removal dates are in short supply so I was thinking of moving out before the completion date depending on what date they offer.
Can anyone see a drawback to that plan? Thanks.

I don't think that's a bad idea if you've exchanged as v unlikely to fall through now! Means you can have a more relaxing day of completion too.... Others may think of something I haven't!1

Thanks Caz, it helps with removals if I can be flexible.Caz_Mnaz said:I don't think that's a bad idea if you've exchanged as v unlikely to fall through now! Means you can have a more relaxing day of completion too.... Others may think of something I haven't!
Also, I'm moving alone and knowing I can come back to the empty house to do final checks, say goodbye to neighbours and calmly visit the EA will put me at ease I think...

Oh god I think most on here would love to be in that position.... I'm moaning about the process taking ages but also dreading completion day when it does finally get here 😂🤦♀️1

Hey everyone. I'm joining the exchange bandwagon as I am seriously on edge!
Offer accepted mid-September moving to a new build.
So we are aiming to complete on the 26th, new build all on track. This date had been brought forward early december as originally completion was march.
No chain thankfully, but doesnt make it any less stressful. Our buyers are renting so should be a straightforward sale.
Except we have been trying to get the contract signed for the last 2 weeks!
Our buyers solicitor double booked them a week ago so didnt happen, we were told this week and it didnt happen. Our buyer is a nurse and a bus driver so shift work is a factor but still I'm so on edge. I'm hoping the contract will be signed next week and should have an update on monday of what's happening.
Guess I'm worried about it falling through at a late stage or implications if we dont complete on the new build at the proposed date.
I'm so anxious and I definitely wont be moving again in a hurry!0 -
Yes, but I'm coming on here at the end. I lost a buyer because the EA did not report they had dropped out so even though I had other offers the other offers had by then bought elsewhere! I went back on the market in November. Did open day viewings in a storm and got a new buyer within 2 weeks of losing the old one. Gazumped for a house I wanted to buy so going into storage. Nearly homeless but a relative stepped in so I have somewhere to go. But, I got here in the end, and so will you.Caz_Mnaz said:Oh god I think most on here would love to be in that position.... It’s good to see some of these waiting to exchange sagas come to an end. It’s giving me some sort of hope

I accepted an offer on my flat and had an offer on the onward purchase accepted early August. It’s dragged on for so long and it seems that once one problem is resolved a new one rears it’s ugly head. I’ll list them all another time with dates. The EA on both sides have said we seem to have encountered every issue going (with the sale and purchase). The latest hold up is with the management firm of the flat and I can see it being another 3-4 weeks before we get an answer. I think we can safely say that the stamp duty deadline will be missed.Seeing as I put the offer in Aug 2020 and we couldn’t have envisaged these issues and missing the SD deadline do you think it is unreasonable to renegotiate the offer? It’s been problems on both sides, so it’s not like the seller has been waiting on us. We simply won’t be able to take the hit and will need to pull out.
Is anyone else in the same boat and thinking of trying to renegotiate? I appreciate we won’t know anymore about the SD deadline until the budget is announced (probably).0 -

we're in rental, and planning on a couple of weeks crossover, so we don't have to rush - takes the stress out of things. 0 -
