Welcome to another week (another month!) of waiting to exchange, everyone. Fingers crossed....
@09.05 I gave our solicitor authority to exchange today, with completion Thursday. No chickens being counted yet though :*

    Good luck all.
Great news, hopefully it will all fall into place this week - good luck 🤞🏻
  • Been lurking on this thread for some time and thought it was time to add my own journey.
    • 10/11: Offer Accepted
    • 15/11: Solicitor instructed
    • 18/11: Mortgage Application submitted
    • 26/11: Mortgage valuation
    • 30/11: Mortgage Offer Received
    • 12/12: Homebuyers Survey
    • 07/01: Searched completed and contracts signed
    • 27/01: February 12th penciled as completion date
    • 29/01: Deposit sent to solicitor in readiness for exchange
The property was advertised as no chain but that no longer seems to be the case. It was a bit of a nasty shock but fingers crossed that all parties are ready to go this week. I'm not sure how long the chain is but I expect we cant go until the seller is ready to go.
We are FTB but was not prepared for the process to be so stressful.
We were hoping to exchange Friday just gone but we are still waiting for a response from the sellers solicitor.
I am looking forward to the day where the house is not my every waking thought!

Welcome to the delights of the housing market 😂
  • I am in training all today and tomorrow, so emailed my agents to ask them to triple-check our buyers understood the urgency of returning their signed mortgage deed ASAP... turns out they received and returned it on Saturday, so we're looking to exchange on Wednesday with completion for 12th. Fingers crossed Royal Mail doesn't let us down!

Fantastic news. And that's a good long gap to get things sorted before the move.

Been reading this thread constantly for the past few weeks. We are still waiting with no update.. here is our timeline so far for anyone whose interested:

    18/09: Offer accepted
    23/09: solicitors instructed
    12/10: Mortgage application sent
    30/11: Mortgage offered
03/12: searches received and enquiries raised
    15/01: Enquiries responses received
22/01: Exchange planned for 29th Jan & completion 5th Feb
    27/01: contracts signed
29/01: EA called to say vendors related purchase isn’t ready as waiting replies to enquires and their management pack needs to be reviewed with more enquiries potentially raised.

Now completely left in the dark with no dates in sight... Been such a long and draining process with still no dates in mind! Hoping for some good news this week but won’t hold my breath.

Good luck to everyone else waiting, hope you all get some good news this week 🤞🏼

I agree that the process is so draining. Just sick of it all now.
How often are you planning on checking in with the EA?

So far I have been quite reasonable with just the odd email here and there but now we are so close to the end, and with delays coming from out of the blue, I’m planning on chasing a lot as it’s been going on for so long and we’re just waiting on our vendors solicitors now.
    How about you?

Still waiting on sellers to answer our solicitor's enquiries (sent a month ago), that's after waiting months for them to fill in/return their contract pack. :|  We always respond to any questions/requests within a few days at most. I swear these people don't actually want to move.

I am going for the daily approach now.
I am sure the EA and solicitors are fed up of the daily emails/ calls but it seems that no progress is made unless I am persistently chasing.
Keep us updated as to the progress of yours. I hope you have some better news this week.
