Why would you want to remove it? Affect resale? Nonsense.0 -

That's definitely a new one, I've never heard of a water meter affecting re-sale! Seriously nothing to worry about!
In any event, if it's just you, it's far better to be on a water meter.0 -
Well no response to our solicitors enquiries this week - I feel like the sellers and the further up the chain don't really want to move as no one is talking about dates - Hopefully by next Friday they have some idea of dates - Only been 4 weeks since started process but I would like to have some idea of move date - at least know which month / week we may be completing etc0
-
Wish someone would update me on progress.
All I know so far is that my buyer's solicitor had had the draft contract a week on the 13/5 and that my solicitor received the transfer deed from them to sign yesterday.
There's one other person in the chain - my buyer's buyer.0 -
Well at least you have a transfer deed. I can only see online on my portal where we are up to at the minute and the solicitor emailed me twice this week saying she is changing them up for enquiry responses.0

I don't know yet if enquiries have actually been raised by my buyer's solicitor even though hopefully the TD is a good sign.0 -
Just moved over to this thread after being the in 'waiting for mortgage offer' thread. Received mortgage offer by email yesterday and in the post today
Quick bit about our purchase, renting temporarily after selling our house in June. Wanted to clear some debts, build up credit score etc. Had owned for 5 and half years and was ready to move on.
Viewed house 9th Aug
Valuation 19th September
Mortgage offer 21st September
Just waiting to exchange and complete now0 -
Had our part of our property sale contract through in the post today. Our new buyers seem to be progressing much faster than the last pair, which is great, although I think as well as them being keen our EA and solicitors have been pushing them along for a quick completion to satisfy our seller at the top of the chain due to the previous delay.
We've got the new buyers' survey/valuation on Monday, so we're trying not to get excited until that has come back as that was the fatal blow last time.
Updated timeline:
* 27/7 - current property listed for sale
* 29/7 - offer accepted from buyers for current property, our offer accepted from vendor on new property
* 3/8 - mortgage application received
* 6/8 - solicitors instructed and forms received
* 15/8 - survey carried out on purchase property
* 18/8 - survey carried out on current property
* 21/8 - mortgage offer confirmed
* 26/8 - survey on current property returned, property under-valued (Countrywide strikes again!)
* 1/9 - negotiations fail, buyers pull out, current property relisted for sale
* 14/9 - current property under reduced offer with new buyers
* 15/9 - vendor's contract documents received from solicitors and enquiries raised
* 16/9 - buyers' offer formalised, our mortgage offer readjusted
* 19/9 - buyers' survey/valuation booked
* 21/9 - updated mortgage offer received
* 22/9 - contract received for sale0 -
Our solicitor emailed me saying that she is waiting for the lease document. who is going to send the lease document to her? is there any market practice for that?
A) the seller"s solicitor?the seller? (the seller has already provided some documents for the legal pack which has been sent to our solicitor through the seller`s solicitor, it seems that the lease is not part of the legal pack which has been sent)
C) the freeholder?0 -
The Estate agent contacted me today as our buyer wants us to allow access for an engineer to service the boiler. Not an unreasonable request I know, but I work every day and don't get home until 6 so now I'm going to appear obstructive when I say they can't come on weekdays. We have no family nearby or anyone else I can leave the key with!
On top of all that we actually had it serviced in April ready for going on the market but they're obviously not satisfied with the receipt I provided for the work
Is anyone here having the boiler serviced in the house you're buying? The one in our new house is old, probably about same as the one here but we offered knowing that, so I was just planning on having it looked at in our first week of moving in.0
