Just sat here waiting for completion now - only another week. Twiddle thumbs, twiddle thumbs - time is going SO slowly now.

When do you complete Tamsin? Friday for me, so just a few days now. Its much easier waiting for completion than waiting for exchange though isn't it! Im having quite a relaxing time and enjoying not checking my phone literally every few minutes. :)

Solicitor has released contracts - are we nearly there? It's just us and the vendors, no onward chain.

    Don't get too excited.
It could still be a long way off yet.

I'm in a chain-free situation, buying with cash. Returned my signed contract and TR1 last week only to find the sellers are nowhere near ready.
  • We finally completed on the 6th and are now in our new house which is lovely and it still doesn't quite feel real yet!
Despite my name, I'm not a student any more

Next Tuesday - so not too long. Just impatient now.

Will you move Friday too? We are having a couple of weeks to 'get stuff done' and then moving 3rd Oct.

Just a few days after us then. We are doing the same basically but we have a lot of stuff to do! We are hoping to be in by Christmas at the latest but for now Im just happy all the buying and selling is done.
  • It is frustrating, the waiting is killing me! Doubt we will get an update now till Monday or Tuesday. Annoyingly our deposits are in ISA's too so have to get the solicitor to send a declaration over to our building society to withdraw, however she can't do this until an exchange date is agreed!

I'll let you know when we hear anything :D

Any progression for you? It has even confirmed for me that the replies are back and being checked, so hopefully not long!

Placed offer on a house mid July, mortgage offer was accepted beginning of August.
Searches are done, just outstanding quries which seem to be taking an age to be completed. Solicitors waiting on certificates from our seller no onward chain.
We are now on 12th September and still awaiting to exchange we and our buyer have already signed.
    Is this a normal timescale?
Added stress is moving company we are using charge 90 quid every time we have to change a predicted moving date. But require 2 weeks notice to move but we dont know what the moving date will be or roughly so can't give notice, pulling hair out time.
    Not happy.
  • Ahhh they have been checked through but still missing things from the replies! :(

Unfortunately it's not the best plan to book removals before exchange.
Often contracts are physically signed quite a while before exchange happens. I've actually signed twice since May and not exchanged.
