Spoke to our solicitors for the purchase and they have confirmed 29th June for completion so we are joining the 29th Crew
They have finally sorted the deed of covenant issue and we have one more form to sign which we should receive later today or early tomorrow. We will be sending that back special delivery, pre 1pm for Monday and then we will be exchanging Monday at the latest.
As we are buying from a part exchange company, they have absolutely stipulated that completion must take place on 29th June so I'm feeling a little more relieved now, although will feel better once exchange takes place!0 -

Thats good news! How strange that so many people are completing on the 29th!
We have a 3 week gap until our agreed completion date which is great for us getting packed up and sorting out storage etc0 -
apply pressure only when necessary - if his purchase is being a nightmare you adding stress isn't going to be helpful. Only apply pressure if you are sure it will help.
Now they've come back to basically yell at me about an indemnity clause my solictor has apparently 'slapped' on them.
I didn't know about it - but he's just doing his job? They've now threatened that they can no longer agree to the completion date so we can't exchange.

Whats the indmentiy for? It could be something that id being insisted upon by your mortgage lender, in which case you have no choice!0 -
Well, after signing contracts last week and the solicitor asking for the deposit in time for this week, I received an email today from the solicitor stating that they are STILL waiting on enquiries and that the earliest the vendor can 'consider completing' is the 30th July!!!!!!
That will make it 5 MONTHS since offer to completion. This, from a vendor who said they wanted a quick sale due to the house being empty and no chain. I could cry! What could possibly warrant that much of a delay?!
Can I possibly do anything to hurry her along or do I just have to wait? I am so, so exasperated by this.
Congratulations to all you 29th June crew0 -

Well after signing contracts last week and putting in a provisional completion date of the 6th July, we still have not heard from our solicitor or the EA. Our vendors vendor is moving into a rented property so only a small chain. My partner is away for work from 21st July to September so we was hoping to complete a couple of weeks before he goes away to get settled in otherwise it would be a September completion.
Is there any way we can push things along? It's so frustrating as we're ready to exchange but everyone else seems to be dragging their feet!
