Week 13 update - we have proposed exchange of contracts this week with completion on 29th. Buyer has confirmed 29th is good for her and as we are buying from a part ex company, it should be fine for them also. :j

Awaiting confirmation and actual exchange of course but seems we might be nearly there. Trying not to get my hopes up too much but went to see the house on Friday night and still in love with it :D It needs a little more TLC than we had thought but we popped into B&Q yesterday to get some wallpaper samples and looked at paint colours and it's all pretty exciting now :D

Apparently our mortgage offer is waiting for the underwriter to look at it and sign it off -how hard is that to do - its been sat on his/her desk since Thursday and they just need to pick it up and look at it. I have a very expensive survey booked for next Tuesday I could really do with the mortgage sorted before it goes ahead.

    28/04 Offer made
    30/4 Offer accepted
    4/5 Solicitor Instructed
    11/5 Survey completed
17/5 Searches started and enquiries raised
    25/5 Searches completed
7/6 Still awaiting response to enquiries - sellers solicitor says sent them, mine says never received
18/6 STILL waiting for response to enquiries...

So annoyed now, it's been 4 weeks since they were raised! I have now missed the deadline to give in notice for my flat for July, so will have to pay for an extra months rent. All the solicitors keep doing is saying it's the other solicitors fault - they are all a complete bunch of liars

Week 12 and finally our buyers have all their searches back. Just waiting on them to get their contract signed and returned and for them to get their deposit to their solicitor. Just slightly irritated that they haven!!!8217;t got this all done already as the rest of the chain has been ready for 3 weeks, after rushing round as our buyers were pushing for exchange back in May and they weren!!!8217;t even ready! Their solicitor said we should exchange !!!8220;early this week!!!8221;. I really hope so!!
