Well after nearly 2 WEEKS!! They have finally responded saying that they are refusing to pay the indemnity and we must pay it.

What ridiculousness - a quick google would tell them it doesn't need LBC! However, in your case I'd probably do the same just to get things moving. But what a pain in the butt. :(

(do you think the solicitors get a kickback on these insurance policies?)

We just cant face negotiating again and waiting another 2 weeks for a response!

Our solicitor has actually been telling us not to pay for it as it is not required. So maybe not.

Top of the chain has a couple of points outstanding and our solicitor said we should exchange next week and complete 29th June. Our solicitor has said for us to close the HTB ISA so is that a good sign? I only ask because it's been constantly pushed back to exchange but now they have requested this

Was told by the vendors that we could agree a completion date last week so we could exchange - but they went silent again.

The estate agent called to make sure we're still buying their house and said they hope to resolve their issues soon.

When exactly are you meant to apply pressure? I'm reluctant to as the seller has said his purchase has been a nightmare...
Just muddling through this thing called adulting...

apply pressure only when necessary - if his purchase is being a nightmare you adding stress isn't going to be helpful. Only apply pressure if you are sure it will help.

So we had an email from the EA today to say our sellers are pushing for their solicitor to exchange today or tomorrow to complete 29th. Fingers crossed!

    My solicitor is away again!

I understand that they are real people with their own lives, but it would be so much more convenient if they weren't :rotfl:
