That is true, at least I know what is actually going on now.

Shortly after I actually got a call from the solicitor as well saying the same thing, except that apparently the vendor was away for a month  I only put the offer in 5 weeks ago so it must have pretty much been straight after that.

Hopefully it all moves along quickly now he's back!

Have had my own semi good news. Still no sign of management pack and therefore no enquiries/draft contract yet.

I spoke to the EA about my concerns that the vendor is buying from someone who is buying a new build, as that could be unpredictable. The vendor has very kindly offered to exchange and complete by the end of July, regardless of what is happening with their upward chain, so that we can be in by end of July.

Obviously, the enquiries could bring something up but is a slight weigh off my mind.

Oh that is good news! Obviously not a guarantee but it's good that you're both on the same page :T

    That's fantastic!!

We had an email from our EA today to say our sellers signed the contracts yesterday for their purchase and so we should exchange later this week or early next week and complete 29th June. Our tenancy ends 30th June. I will feel so much better once we have exchanged and the 29th is set in stone.

    Great news!

Do you set the completion date at exchange then and it can not be changed after?

    FTB here :)
