Praying that we get told we can exchange this week and complete 29th June. So sick of waiting. We have to be out of our rented property on 30th June0

Well after a call to our solicitor and thinking we'd be close to signing contracts and arranging an exchange date, we've since found out that our vendor has only just instructed their solicitor, we offered on the house in April! We've given the ultermation that we need to complete before the end of next month or it will have to be after September due to partners heavy work commitments during the summer. There's only 2 houses in the chain as vendors vendor is moving into rented accommodation. Am I naive in thinking that a completion in 5 weeks is possible?
Really annoying when people mess around genuine buyer/seller. That just tells me vendor was delaying stuff on purpose by not instructing sols. Think 5 weeks is doable but it also depends on your vendor as he/she can delay stuff on purpose or otherwise.0 -

OMG how frustrating and annoying!!
5 weeks might be pushing it but you can only hope there aren't loads of enquiries and everything else comes back quickly - crossing fingers for you!0 -
Week 12 - no update yet. Hopeful we will hear confirmation that we are all ready to exchange contracts this week. I've emailed the EA for an update on whether the vendor has moved into her new build yet & asked if there are any delays on that side. We are buying from a part-ex company and I know she hasn't moved out properly yet because we saw her at the house yesterday! But hoping she might be moving this week as she was due to exchange with the part-ex about three weeks ago....
Really need that damn house to be built and ready so that we can exchange this week and set a completion date for our house. Bored of the waiting now!0 -
Argh!! So after being told our buyers were just waiting on their searches that would be returned last Tuesday, I asked for an update this morning (hopingvfor the go ahead to exchange). But they are still waiting on their drainage search!!! Looking online the turn around for them is between 24 hours up to 5 days so it would seem that hadn!!!8217;t got round to applying for them until last week. We!!!8217;re in week 11 now. Apparently they are still working towards completion for 13/7, it just so unsettling, I want to exchange now!0

So frustrating! Week 14 for us... solicitor has an out of office until tomorrow.. :mad:Argh!! We had all our searches back 3 or 4 weeks ago. Paid our deposit, signed everything. Ready to exchange now and it is week 14. The top of the chain is slowing it all. Why anyone uses an online solicitor baffles me... :mad:0 -
Just spoke to the EA and the lady living in our house is completing and moving out tomorrow :T
So from tomorrow, the EA will have all of the keys and we will hopefully be exchanging contracts later this weekFingers crossed!
She also said since she will have the keys we can meet up with her and go and have another look around the house and take measurements etc so yay, very excited now0 -
