Update from us... our buyers are ready, we are ready, and the only thing we are waiting on now is the local search our sellers are waiting on for the house they r purchasing (they r moving into an empty property so the chain ends then). the solicitor wouldn't request it until the valuation got done (which was Friday last week) I don't understand that tbh! but the local search was requested on Friday last week (all other searches have been done and returned) and I called council and their turnaround time is 10 working days which takes us to Friday 22nd June, and we want to complete by Friday 29th June, so we need to exchange before then! So they will have a week to finalise everything, and HOPEFULLY the local search doesn't raise anymore queries!!!
What does the local search show, do solicitors normally raise queries on the back of local searches? if they do I know we won't complete when we want to because im sure the queries being sent and answered wont be done in a week!
getting anxious now! our solicitor has been trying to exchange for a week now, but obv can't be done until another 2 weeks now, so just being patient! (trying)0 -
Just heard from the solicitor for the sale of my flat and she has spoken to the buyer's solicitors and they are going to report to her tomorrow. They had the replies to enquiries a week ago but then they did raise over 30 enquiries so I guess it could take them a week to go through everything.
Hopefully we will be all good to exchange tomorrow or Monday, fingers crossed!0 -
So it's not going to be tomorrow as they buyer's sol is going to post out the contract to the buyer tomorrow along with the purchase report. Hopefully she will receive it Monday, sign it and send it straight back and then perhaps we can exchange Tuesday next week. *crosses fingers*0

Our vendor's solicitors has apparently PROMISED we'll have the draft contract by the end of this week, we'll see how that goes  :rotfl:0

15 weeks after offer accepted on our house and chain complete we finally exchanged.
Such a relief.
I had to give an ultimatum in the end. If the couple who were holding things up didn’t have their contracts back to their solicitors on Monday I was pulling out. Thankfully it worked.
Spent all afternoon on the phone sorting out BT and sky.
Removals boxes coming tomorrow !!!129303;0 -

Still waiting...
I assume they buyers solicitor is now satisfied as its been over a week with no response? My solicitor says she will chase them for an update in the next day or two.
I cant stand waiting!! Nothing gets me stressed usually but this is so stressful!
Well after nearly 2 WEEKS!! They have finally responded saying that they are refusing to pay the indemnity and we must pay it. We have given in and are going to pay just to get things done as to send another message back could take another 2 weeks for the lm to reply again! Even though there is no breach of listed building consent and so the policy is totally pointless...
We are going to demand exchange within the next 2 weeks. So hopefully help hurries them up a bit.
Another big plus for our solicitor, after her recieving the response at 6.45pm last night she responded to us at 11.30pm! We then discussed a few things until 12.30am! She is incredibly efficient!28/4 offer accepted
