All went smoothly and we're now in a sea of unpacked boxes, have ordered takeaway and will be drinking champagne out of plastic glasses! The only surprise was we found we've inherited two fish in the garden pond and we've no idea how to look after them!
Good luck to all those waiting to exchange/complete....it can be stressful but it's sooo worth it.
Congratulations.
Not in Manchester are you? (to recommend removals!).0 -
Our offer was accepted 28th January! It's been 30 weeks.
We were waiting on the seller to find herself a flat to rent, she rang us last week to say she had finally found a property although she can't move in til 9th September. We've waited 6 months, we're happy to wait another couple of weeks.
I've been waiting all week for an exchange date as our mortgage offer expires Sunday, and they refused to extend.
Thursday I was starting to panic. Seller said she had gotten hold of her solicitors to agree on a date, but they were still waiting to hear from the sellers ex for his okay.
Friday morning they were still trying to get hold of him as he was at work. My conveyancers were closing at 5pm and didn't work saturday.
He finally gave his okay at 4:15, and we exchanged at 4:22. 38 minutes to go. Talk about cutting it fine!
We have the completion date already set for 11th Sept, so we can relax now and concentrate on packing.
