Hi @Pumpkim,
At what stage do you receive the all property documents? Is the vendor's solicitor sends draft contract to buyer's solictor and they buyer (two copies sent via post) ?
We didn't receive anything until the conveyancing report was ready, which for us was today! I had confirmation that they'd received things, and that they were raising enquiries but didn't lay eyes on things until today.
For one purchase, the sellers solicitors sent them practically straight away, on another purchase it was weeks of waiting.0 -
I've been waiting to get onto this forum - :j
Here's my story:
30th May 2017 - Ring estate agent and tell them I want to sell house.
2nd June 2017 - House photos taken, and see house that we like to buy & book viewing.
5th June 2017 - Put offer on house for asking price, along with 3 others. Goes to sealed bids.
7th June 2017 - House is live, for sale.
8th June 2017 - Have 4 viewings on house.
9th June 2017 - Have cash bid for asking Price, one viewing, also have sealed bid accepted.
10th June 2017 - 4 viewings.
12th June 2017 - 1 offer below asking price on my house. Vendor still hasn't found house.
12th June 2017 - Appointed Solicitors to sell/purchase house.
13th June 2017 - Solicitors paperwork arrived in post.
20th June 2017 - Returned solicitors paperwork.
10th August 2017 - Still no property found by vendors, so we look at another property we like.
11th August 2017 - Submit offer at asking price for new property.
14th August 2017 - Offer accepted on new property, withdraw from other property we had offer accepted on.
15th August 2017 - Appointment with mortgage broker, submit mortgage application.
18th August 2017 - Have email telling me that valuation will be done on 1st September 2017, and the mortgage application is with the underwriter.
23rd August 2017 - Mortgage offer accepted.0 -

Hi,
I'm new on here but have been reading all your statuses and sort of felt better - a bit!
I'm selling my first house so this is all totally new to me. I'm lucky in that I'm moving to a partners house and my buyer is a cash FTB but I'm just so nervous about the whole thing!!
Timeline:
3/3/17: Put on market
16/5/17: Offer made
30/5/17: Buyer backed out
3/7/17: New buyer makes offer
17/8/17: Survey carried out
21/8/17: Fill in responses to enquiries
Just waiting now. I'm keeping everything crossed that nothing on the survey will come up and scare her.
I feel that we're really close now but I'm just so nervous. I can't even think about moving yet!
I don't have an estimated completion date yet - any ideas how long that might be?
Thanks!0 -

How long is a piece of string?
If their searches are back then it could be quick if you've answered all the queries. More queries could be raised by the survey though.0 -
We should exchange tomorrow. I returned the contracts etc yesterday, paid our bill and submitted evidence of the house insurance, so if Royal Mail get there act together we can exchange! I'm lead to believe all paperwork is in place with the other parties to allow exchange tomorrow so fingers crossed. Then it's completion on the 8th!0
