My current timeline:
offer accepted- 23rd May
~void of time where 1st mortgage application was rejected~
19th June - Valuation Survey Recieved
17th July - Mortgage offer recieved
1st Aug - after much chasing, solicitor finally receives draft contract from vendors solicitors
3rd Aug - Enquiries Raised / Searches Sent
I'm so sick of waiting now, and feel like it will be a LONG time before we move. On the plus, my solicitors appear to be fantastic, shame the vendors aren't!!!!
Local search finally received by solicitors today. Just waiting on vendor to respond to enquiries...
PRAYING for exchange this week... week 130 -

PRAYING for exchange this week... week 13
I don't wish to rain on your parade, but it is highly likely that more enquiries will now be raised following the results of the searches.
Whilst it is week 13 since your offer has been accepted, it is only 3 weeks since your solicitor received the package of documents.
As such, I'm afraid it is probably unlikely you will exchange this week, although not impossible.0 -
I'm finally here with both feet! Mortgage offer issued today :T
Timeline so far:
8 May House listed on RM
6 July procedable offer made and accepted
6 July Solicitor instructed
16 July Viewed purchase property
17 July Offer made
18 July Offer accepted
24 July Approached L&C regarding mortgage
28 July Full mortgage application submitted
21 August Mortgage offer issued
21 August confirmed that solicitor could commence work on our purchase.
Feels like it's taken an age to get this far, mainly due to the fact the mortgage decision took so long even though it was apparently straight forward,
My solicitor is already in receipt of the draft contract and is submitting searches tomorrow. My sale seems to be progressing fine, I've had some queries which I've answered so hopefully things will all be moving now - I've asked for clarification on how many are in the chain above. Hopefully not too many :eek:0 -
AAAAARGHHHHHHH!
Buyer wants to complete Monday, seller on Friday and neither will agree. Both have good reasons for wanting that day, and seemingly being unable to do the other.
And we are the ones having to sort it out0 -
i am week 5....I rang my solicitors today and asked what stage are we at. He said we are waiting for the vendors solicitor to send Draft contract.
So, i sent EA an email saying exactly that. She then emails me saying that the vendors solicitor HAS sent it last week to my solicitors!!! she also said that my solicitors firm has a history of doing this (not a good sign!)
So, I am hoping for some progress over the next few weeks. Fingers crossed.0 -
@ Rambosmum Go for Friday if you can. Explain to buyer that it will save them some Mortgage interest
They will be charged interest over the weekend if they complete Monday.2.88 kWp System, SE Facing, 30 Degree Pitch, 12 x 240W Conergy Panels, Samil Solar River Inverter, Havant, Hampshire. Installed July 2012, acquired by me on purchase of house in August 20170 -
