    Hi All,

Just to vent out! I am in shock and depressed... Just received an e-mail from my solicitor informing that our buyer decided not to proceed :( No explanation, no reason, nothing...
I don't even know what to do now as I was not prepared for this... He was the one that wanted a fast buy, our solicitor was great, did all paperwork very fast, sent the contract out last week and we didn't get any news from them. Until today that my solicitor contacted buyers solicitor to update on progress and he informed that the buyer is not going to proceed :( very upsetting :(:(:(:(

I am at the moment at home with a gas engineer replacing my boiler, as it was very old and was a requirement from the buyer and now I am spending all this money unnecessarily :(

I feel like I need to scream!!!

Hope your process goes better than mine..

    Good luck!

So awful for you - lots of hugs and booze for you :(

People pulling out is such a worry for us all. But when you remarket make sure to up the price and mention the brand new boiler!
  • Sorry to hear that, PThome, what a PITA :(
    Mortgage-free for fourteen years!

    Over £40,000 mis-sold PPI reclaimed
  • Must not e-mail sol until 11, lets give them some time to talk (ha).

Instead I'm looking at what tv/broadband to get now I have a choice :D

    edit:
Email sent at 11.01, phone call to follow at 1pm if no reply.

I've emailed mine twice and called in the last 24 hours - to no response!

I could scream, meant to be exchanging tomorrow and we've had no confirmation it's going to happen, not transferred over our deposit and not set up home insurance yet.

Virgin broadband is always my favourite, but I prefer Sky for TV btw
  • Apparently vendor wants to complete on the 26th as well - BUT they haven't sent requested requisitions (whatever they are) and my mortgage company won't release funds without them, and we need to request them asap to be ready for next Friday.

Also they initally said they wanted 29th May and since I scrolled down the email chain to start at the first message that was the first thing I read and nearly had a heart attack:rotfl: they did then confirm they meant January.

I think today day is going to be very stressful (though not as stressful as poor PThome)

So sorry to read this - what a nightmare.

The only plus point is, the new boiler will be a really good selling point - and in all likelihood, another buyer would've wanted the same too, so at least it's done and won't hold things up next time round.

I'd rather stay with Virgin but they want to charge me £48/month.

If i move to sky it will be broadband/phone only and I'll just get a freeview box as that's all I have with Virgin anyway

We're exactly the same, Vendor is happy with completion 26th January, but hadn't got back to our solicitors about exchange tomorrow, so our solicitor can't yet contact the lender to request funds for next week.

We have told our landlord that we're leaving now though, hopefully we've not jinxed it!

We pay more than that, but we do have the full package -can't live without Sky Sports.

Don't forget to use a cashback site for all the new purchases

Just went through Topcashback - £70 cash back plus £50 mastercard from Sky if I sign up today. £18 for broadband and phone, which is all I need. I'll just buy a freeview box or add sky on later if needed.

So I did, I hope this doesn't curse me :o

(there is a 14 day cooling off period to cancel of course). I'll wait to see what happend before I cancel Virgin.
