We got the keys at 3pm after handing over our keys at 1.30pm.
The house is filthy and stinks of dog -I have 3 of my own but this is another level! All skirtings are black, every surface and cupboard board door is sticky 🤢 but we are in!2 -
Congratulations and good luck with the sticky!0

Utterly fantastic news.
I've had some luck with sticky surfaces using antibacterial wipes which are wet with isopropyl alcohol or similar. However, I don't know if they will sometimes remove colour from stained wood or similar. They don't for me, but with these things its best to test a small area first.
I don't have anything to add to this thread myself, because while I'm making progress, I haven't passed any notable milestones. Hopefully in a week or so.0 -

24th February - Documents completed and sent back to solicitor.14th March to 6th April - Sporadically received enquiries from buyers solicitors and replied same day.6th April - Buyers solicitor requested something additional from the council.12th May - Up to date redemption figures received by our solicitor and everything ready to go.17th May - Discovered our buyers buyers (FTBs) are having to query something with their lender which has had to go back to the valuer.
This is where we are currently. We’ve been waiting 3 weeks now and have had no movement whatsoever. Emailed our solicitor today and received an autoreply to say our solicitor is now on leave til 19th June! Really hoping one of the other solicitors in the firm can try and push things along as it’s already been 15 weeks since offer accepted, don’t want to be waiting til the end of the month for completion.
Our side is all done, as far as I’m aware, our buyers side of our sale is all ready, and all we are waiting for is the resolution to one query to do with the house our buyers are selling which involves a piece of land.
Spoke to our estate agent and there’s some progress been made today thanks to the estate agent getting involved and doing some of the leg work that solicitors should have been doing, but we’ve now given the chain a deadline of 14th July to agree a completion date otherwise we will put the house back on the market. Our estate agent couldn’t guarantee things would move any further in that timeframe but she agreed the deadline was fair.Did find out that one of the four that viewed our house yesterday has only just put their own house on the market last week so why the EA allowed them to book a viewing is somewhat puzzling but will see what feedback, if any, we get tomorrow.gazfocus said:gazfocus said:gazfocus said:Thought I’d join this thread for some venting haha.17th February - Offer accepted on our sale.18th February - Solicitor instructed

Offer accepted August 31st, just heard today the house we're buying wants to complete on the 30th of October, as desperate as we are to move, need slightly more notice than that, so fingers crossed for early November 🤞1

Yes, all searches done, surveys done, enquiries and follow up enquiries done (although we think our solicitor forgot to check on a thing so we've asked for that to be followed up, it's just to ask if any work has been done on the roof because of a different coloured tile). Our buyer is ready to go, contract signed and with solicitor.
In theory is doable, but the earliest we can get removals is 8th November so we're asking for that.1 -

Journey so far
Offer accepted on flat: 27/10/22
Solicitors instructed: 28/10/22
Mortgage offer received: 01/12/22
Found out need deed of variation (requested seller to sort): 21/12/22
Seller found out costs of deed of variation and wanted me to pay for it up front where my money wouldn't be protected if sale fell through.
Seller relisted: 06/03/23
Found new flat and offer accepted: 07/03/23
Solicitors instructed: 08/03/23
Searches received: 20/04/23
Solicitors contacted me to say they can no longer act on the matter due to the new Buildings Safety Act: 04/05/23
New solicitors instructed: 06/05/23
Been waiting on 5 enquiries since July when sellers solicitors stopped responding to the point I threatened to pull out if no movement by end of Oct. Within a week we finally have received everything.
My solicitor is just reviewing the last bits that have been sent and hopefully we'll get an exchange/completion date this week!
Haven't exchange yet so still a chance it may not be next week but here's hoping it does0 -

For me, I've had my property survey and a debrief by the surveyor. There are some issues for me to think through. I've asked for a second viewing.0
