Supposed to be completing in 30 November but haven’t exchanged yet. Mortgage account is open and visible on my online banking so I’m guessing that’s a good sign??0

Well we are getting closer. Our buyer has returned the signed contract with their deposit. We are just waiting for one enquiry to be satisfied with our purchase. However it is not a big issue and we are a cash buyer. Hoping to exchange a next week and complete in January.0

After being told we needed 5 days between exchange and completion and that Barclays would only let our solicitor hold the money for 48 hours, we exchanged and completed on the same day by holding the funds for four days!
Utter relief! It doesn't quite seem real.
Fingers crossed for everyone else, especially @RM_2013 you've had a rough ride.3 -

I'm curious to see what next week brings. After finally exchanging on our sale (yay!) with completion on the 19th of December, we've already made some great progress packing this weekend.
We're hoping we can get the purchase done by then as well, but are preparing for plan B (stuff in storage, couch surfing, airbnb, etc). The tenants in the house we're moving to are moving out on Wednesday, and we're going for a viewing on Saturday to make sure they've actually left, and also to take some measurements.
I'll check in with our solicitor tomorrow and see what's outstanding - I think they're waiting for responses on the second round of enquiries and the updated contract reflecting the lower purchase price. If that's the case, I can get the EA to chase as well, they've usually been quite good about checking in.
Fingers crossed for everyone else as well0 -

let’s hope this is a positive week for those waiting1 -
We're starting off the week with some responses. We got the boiler and solar panel installation certificates through last night, so that's a couple of enquiries dealt with at least.
I asked our solicitor to tell me what's still outstanding so I can get the estate agent to check in/ chase as well. 3 weeks today until our moving out day, and I'm still keeping all fingers crossed that it might be 'moving in day' as well.1 -
Wishing every one progress in a new week and for those in the early stages/taking ages. It is all worth it in the end.
Took 8mo from offer on my purchase, it's been a roller-coaster ride.
Good luck everyone!4 -
@julicorn@ironlady2022 Thanks for being proof of light at the end of the tunnel! We are all slowly getting there, I think.
We put together an email and sent it to the estate agents on Thursday regarding a negotiation on price after the damp and timber survey flagged some issues. Our revised offer was accepted on Saturday! I've just emailed our solicitor this morning to let her know and we have emailed our mortgage broker too. Hopefully, the mortgage company won't take too long to come back and there will be no issues.
Our solicitor finally received the draft contracts and sellers pack last week, so I'm assuming at some point this week, we may get to see that before any enquiries are raised.
Small, positive steps in the right direction!
My boyfriend thinks there is a possibility that we may be in before Christmas, I'm not as hopeful with that, and to be honest, I don't really mind! As long as it is all complete before the mortgage expiry deadline in Feb, I will be happy!
