Every week I wish we win the lottery and can tell everyone to f*** off because we will be buying a different house!!
We’ve had almost an identical conversation 🤣

    Hurdle no.1

Buyers want to move before their mortgage offer expires in Nov (7 weeks from complete chain)
Sellers won't be ready til Jan.

Request today that we find somewhere else to be for a couple of months,  over Christmas, at short notice, and take all the cost...

There is a very simple answer..!

I know they are going to have to spend more on their mortgage,  but so are we.
I expect they'll ask for a cost reduction but we'll cross that one when we get to it.

Trying in vain to get hold of the estate agent
That's mad, they can request all they like but that is a big ask for you...don't blame you for saying nope!

Well we didn't exchange today...not sure why but one of the solicitors had finished for the day before 4pm 🙄 hopefully tomorrow. We've made a punt and are going to book our movers for the 28th anyway in the hope we do complete then as all parties have agreed...hopefully will be ok and we won't be risking the movers deposit! Have to act soon as several people want the same date.

Had our TA10 through today, nice surprise that they’re leaving the cooker as the current rental we’re in is fitted so we don’t own one, and the house we are buying is freestanding so we assumed they’d take it. One less thing to buy!

We found our sellers are leaving their fridge freezer which is also freestanding...we assumed they would take it. Agreed one less thing to buy! No white goods needed thankfully!

We finally exchanged today, 6 months and 2 collapsed chains later. Its such a relief as we were really worried it was going to go wrong again.
    Congratulations that's brilliant news!! 👏

Hi all, haven't been on this thread for a while as house stuff was stressing me out and we had no updates anyway. Pleased to see good news from some of you though!

The latest issue for us is that our buyer's mortgage offer has just expired - soooo frustrating as I raised this risk months ago, then through September I repeatedly asked our EA to check she had applied for an extension (with no clear answer). And now we hear she's ghosting our EA, who has left her several voicemails in the last 2 weeks and not had a call back. GREAT. All the while the clock is ticking on our own mortgage offer (2.8% for 5 years!! If we run out of time it is going to cost us a fortune).

Deposit balance sent, and contract signed today! Just waiting for exchange this week, and then to agree a date (hopefully sometime w/c 24th!)
    Excited doesn’t quite cut it!
Solicitor has requested our mortgage advance for next Friday, both us and seller are happy to complete next Friday - due to exchange this Friday when our solicitor is back from annual leave.

Well we didn't exchange again! 🙄 now we are waiting for bottom of the chain to confirm their funds can be released for completion on the 28th of October....ive no idea how long this normally takes but apparently its fairly normal? We better exchange this week or I'll go mad!
